Being a remnant soul isn't as easy as you'd think considering they have escaped the grasp of Death before. Some-unlike Damian-cannot easily cope with their trauma and take long periods of time to recover to sufficient strength to enter the cycle of reincarnation.
As for Damian Taylor himself, it is already obvious that he has a goal in mind. However, this goal will not be easy to accomplish nor complete unless he put in the work for it.
But as for why he was in the Variant Timelines instead of suffering for eternity in the Deadlands? Well, that is easy enough to say.
In order to obtain great power, one must endure endless struggles and pay in blood, sweat, and tears-sometimes even lives too. For Damian and those he will encounter along the way, there is no greater challenge than traversing the Variant Timelines and acquiring magic far beyond the known scope of belief.
For our young and still freshly tense Damian Taylor, he does not yet know what you do about his adventures. How there are other realms and worlds to explore which shall offer him their own challenges.
There are always more challenges in the worlds beyond the Galaxy to discover, but at the same time, there are also dangers in which not even the quasi-immortality of a remnant soul may be able to withstand for long. Dark forces which will do whatever it takes in over to stop the progenitor of the cosmos in his tracks before it truly started, but there is a way to stop them.
Collecting the stones of power will help to delay them just enough for our young protagonist to grow into a powerful legend across the cosmos.
*****
Yeah, I'm not afraid to throw in a shameless advert for powerstones in this short interlude chapter. Now then, my dear readers, I know I haven't been updating this story frequently for you all, but I have some good news!
First off, the next chapter will involve a new boost to Damian's power and unlock a hint about the next part in this campaign story arc. Stay tuned!
Lastly, I'll be updating the story at least once a week on Wednesdays at 3pm PST until the end of 2022 since I'm over 50% done with my main project. I need to spend most of my development time on that before doing this story and my other projects.
