There were two Osmanthus fragrans in the front yard of Tiantang House. The boss there liked drinking tea, and she often infused the flowers with green or black tea leaves to create osmanthus tea. Sometimes, some servants also made osmanthus cake or maybe osmanthus tangyuan thanked for the existence of the trees.
The trees' height nearly reached twelve meters, and during autumn, the servants needed to sweep the yard more often because dry leaves would keep falling from the tree branches.
It was springtime, and that was why there were no brown leaves from the trees to be seen, nor did the servants have to work any harder to remove the dry leaves that might form small mountains in front of the building if they were not diligent in lifting a broom to sweep them.
The front yard looked deserted from the dry leaves this afternoon, but the place couldn't be free from the people who gathered there when they saw a lonely figure who had just come out of the building.
