Chapter 1 - Between past and present

At the end of a long corridor at a high school, built in an old and distinguished architecture in a quiet village, you hear the flicks of the heels of a women's shoe approaching from a noisy section. A young lady in the spring of her age wears elegant clothes and wears a badge indicating her name and profession as a teacher in the classroom. The badge appears upon approaching that she is called Miss "Maria" and she studies language and linguistics. It was the first time she would meet her students after their previous school had been absent due to a sick vacation. The school occupied the position recently after being chosen by the director of the secondary school as the most suitable person to teach in his institution during this particular period.

Speaking of the manager, he is a firm person, showing signs of strictness, broad-based culture and obsessed with education and its development. He always searches for modern and old training methods to select the best of them. While he was browsing a book from his crowded library, he looked at the horizon from his desk, straying back 40 years to the past, when he was a student in the same high school. He was among the elite of the class, with excellent grades and ratings at the top of the student list. He was so honored and praised that he made him feel proud. It is clear that his diligence is noticeable to teachers and students alike. Where it depended on preparing lessons in advance and memorizing everything dictated by teachers.

The director recalls a scene from his childhood that never leaves his mind. He had a classmate who was perplexed. He was a boy who liked to play and spent most of his time roaming. He never attended his lessons and rarely does his homework because he solves them at the last moment while he is on the school ladder before entering the lesson. His temperament was far from the diligence familiar to his colleague (the director). What made this latter jealous was his colleague's ability to answer the most difficult questions and suggest the best solutions to some issues, even though they were not mentioned in the study program at all. This distinguished student was well-versed, a lot of reading, loves to experiment and seeks to find an innovative solution to every problem he faces. This made him a distinguished boy with his unique culture and ability to link events and develop ideas with his interest in everything that is experimental and innovative.

This conflict between the two students, each of whom is distinguished in his own way, made the diligent and diligent student keen on his studies lose some of his confidence in the study programs, despite his excellent grades in all subjects. This is because he finds himself unable to answer when the question comes out of what is written in the lesson. He may be accustomed to memorizing as much information as possible and storing it in his memory and relying on it when needed to answer. While his colleague can think and find solutions even though he was not familiar with them before. Where he uses the culture he gained from reading a lot in all fields to solve problems in an innovative way.

Every time he won thinking about memory, although they complemented each other, a crisis occurred in the psyche of the diligent student and he lost his confidence in himself and in his school. But he did not find it seemed this way.

The director wakes up for a moment thinking about the memories to return to looking at the book in his hand, and in his eyes a suspicious determination as if he intends to do something terrifying.
