"Hey, Andi, get your butt over here before I throw your stuff out the window!" a boy yelled across the classroom, his hand firmly gripping onto a black backpack.
"Shit! I'm coming!!" Andi yelled back, running towards the teenager holding his backpack.
Before Andi could reach the boy, the alarm rang out, signalling the end of school for the day. Everyone packed their things and left the classroom, leaving only Andi and the other student standing by the window.
Andi was visibly shaking. He darted his head left and right, as though he was looking for something, but a tight slap was enough to wake him up from his stupor.
"Look at me, you punk!!" the boy yelled, pushing the backpack onto Andi's chest. The latter fell to the floor like he was a maniqin, putting no resistance whatsoever.
"Don't forget, the boss wants to see you tonight. Don't bail on him like you always do," the boy yelled, before leaving the classroom as well.
Andi got off the floor, placed his backpack on his back, and exited the classroom.
On his way out of school, his head was facing the floor, trying his best to avoid drawing attention to himself. However, he still managed to, as students passing by the hallway would stop and take a look at him, his hair, in particular.
Ever since last week, the teenager had somewhat altered his looks. Once having blonde hair, the teenager dyed it black last summer, abd ever since then, he had been the talk of the whole school.
But it wasn't due to the color, but what it signified.
...
Andi managed to get out of school, and now stood outside his family house. Gently pushing the door open, a fairly young woman with jet black hair could be seen getting ready to go somewhere.
"Sigh... where did I put it..." the woman sighed, pacing up and down the place. It wasn't until she felt the presence of someone, did she turn and acknowledged the fact that her son had returned.
"Oh, Andi... how was school?" she asked, not turning to look at him.
"It was okay... I... I'm going to my room..." Andi went up stairs to his room.
Once in his room, Andi fell on his bed, the breath he didn't kniwt he had been holding all this time had finally been released, and a heavy weight had been lifted off his chest.
'Man... what excuse am I gonna give Gavriel this time,' Andi thought. After over an hour of endless thinking, the teenager became exhausted, and went downstairs for a snack, after which he fell asleep at 4:00pm.
...
The next day was fortunately a Saturday, meaning Andi could stay at home without a worry in the world.
Getting off bed, the teenager went about his daily routine of spending an extra hour in, watching inappropriate videos, releasing his frustration, and dragging his exhausted body down to the kitchen to eat breakfast.
Descending the staircase, Andi could already see breakfast out on the table: Cereal, as well as a note.
Picking up the note, Andi read the contents:
"Dear Gummy Bear,
I had to come in to work today, even though today's a Sunday. I made you breakfast, I hope you enjoy it.
Love, mum."
Placing the letter down on the table, Andi let out a long sigh, and sat down to eat his breakfast.
'I wonder what I'll do today. I've completed all the levels in that game, and I didn't get any homework for the weekend... FUCK!!' Andi cursed internally, realizing he had made a grave mistake.
'Yesterday... I was meant to show up to meet Gavriel... He'll have my head if he ever sees me again!!' Andi's heart began to thump loudly as the image of himself being killed by a black-haired man filled his mind.
'Should I just get ready and meet him, tell him I'm sorry and that I forgot? No, am I stupid?! He'll think I'm placing with him and make me suffer an even worse death...' Andi contemplated on what to do. Offending this Gavriel wasn't something he ever wished he would do, but now that he had done so, the teenager internally pleaded for a solution out of this mess.
'Forget it. I'm dead anyway, so I might as well get this over with quicker,' Andi thought nonchalantly as he finished his breakfast, and walked back upstairs.
Although being exhausted, the teenager still mustered you the strength to get ready thanks the fact that his mortality was close at hand.
Looking at the full-length mirror in his room, Andi could clearly see his reflection. His sky blue eyes were a contrast to the clothing he wore.
A black, fitted jump-suit, with a red lining along the chest region, with a mask the shape of a vampire showing its fangs.
Andi let out a 'meh' as he left the room through the window. Being in a secret society had taught him a think or two about stealth and balance, and despite his exhaustion, Andi was still able to climb down the tree behind his house.
Now that he was out, Andi pressed on a black wristwatch adorning his right wrist, which showed a digital mark, and two dots the second later.
The blue dot signified him, while the red dot signified Gavriel.
Following the path laid out by the GPS, Andi eventually made it to the red dot, and standing at the end of a dark alley, was a tall man with his hands in his pocket, his back leaning against the wall.
Andi was, at most, five meters away from the man, but he could still feel an intense aura coming from the end of the dark alley.
His heart began to thump louder than it ever did before. Andi had always been one who was always anxious, even because of the most trivial things. But today, this, this was different.
Andi had found himself in the presence of a lot of powerful people during his short life. He had felt pressure that almost choked him to death, but the pressure he could feel from this man was different.
It always was.
He felt like he was staring at the Devil himself. His aura, his grace, his elegance... it was far too perfect to belong to a human.
That was the thought he had in mind as he started taking steps backwards, however, his back eventually hit something solid, and turning around, he saw a stoic face staring down at him.
There was a single bodyguard blocking his path, but with how tall he was, and the fact that he had a well-built body, Andi found it mentally impossible to manuver around the bodyguard.
"Andi, was it? You owe me an explanation for your repeated absence," the man leaning against the wall said.
Andi heart thumped louder as his gaze darted left and right, searching for a means of escaping, however, he found none. Swallowing hard, Andi fell on his knees, and had a mental breakdown.
The sight was quite bizzare to say the least for both men as they stared at the curled up teenager with narrowed eyes.
The man named Gavriel let out a sigh, and gestured for his bodyguard to handle the issue.
"I wonder why Aiden got himself involved with this wimp..." Gavriel massaged his temples with his thumb and index finger, mumbling to himself.
...
Opening his eyes, Andi found himself in a setting he was far too familiar with. Taking a closer look at his suroundings, he finally realized where he was exactly.
"I'm... home...?" Andi mumbled to himself in a daze.
