Chapter 35 - CHAPTER 34

"Put it in that corner"
"What's taking them so long, we need it now!"
"I'll go check on them!"

Everyone is busy, like VERY BUSY. Busy for what? It's for the...

"The young miss' debut ball is one week away, we need to move people!", Aiden shouted as he continued managing everyone in preparing for the said event.

It was only yesterday when the duke told Eleanor that she'll be having her debut ball and at the same time, during the event, she'll also be officially introduced as the missing daughter of the Duke of Donati.

After watching his daughter open the boxes given to her by Meridia and the others associated with her, the duke can't help but feel uncomfortable about being a father who hasn't done anything for his missing-and-now-found daughter, thus, he called Lucius and discussed things with him, and they both decided on a gift so they can at least make up for all the years they missed from her life, and that is by first making her officially a part of their family.

After working on some things, documents to be exact, for many days, they were finally able to add Eli to the family registrar. And the next step they thought of finally introducing her to the public and nobles, not as Eleanor the 'privileged person' but as Eleanor Josiah Donati, the youngest child of the Duchess and Duke.

And right now, they're all busy preparing for the ball that will be held in the mansion.

"Young miss it's time to start choosing the outfit that you'll use on the ball", Eli who is still busy watching the people around the mansion scurry around looked at Sesera who is now waiting for her.

She slowly got up as the maid tried to accompany her to the room where she was supposed to choose the clothes, shoes, and accessories that she'll need for the party.

Upon arriving at the room, the maids started hovering around her as they all tried to ask about her preferences.

"Okay, that's quite enough ladies", Aiden, who came out of nowhere stopped before facing Eleanor again.

"Please feel free to speak up and let them assist you in a way that you prefer them to miss. No need to be hasty about deciding, we want you to look as pretty as you are and maybe even prettier than now at the party, so you should choose your outfit and accessories carefully", and with that, Aiden bowed once again before leaving to check on the preparations for the ball again.

"Okay then, shall we start?"












1 week after that...

"You look so pretty, young miss!", Sesera squealed. In front of her is a young lady wearing a dress with a mix of purple and blue, the designs embroidered in it also made the dress more unique, half of her hair is tied while half of it was let down freely.

The familiar blue hairpin that served as the guiding light for her family to find her is also present in her hair, and hidden through is the one piece of earring that the goddess, Anchora, gifted her.

But not like before when whenever she shows up in public she needed to wear a mask to hide her identity after being known as a 'privileged person', now her bare face is out in the open with simple makeup applied to it that lightened up her face more.

The maids took a final check on her before smiling as they were finally able to finish their masterpiece for tonight together with the still fangirling Sesera.

Seconds after that, they heard a knock. Sesera slowly opened the door only to be greeted by the handsome young master of the Donati Family.

" Is she ready?", Lucius asked as he tried to peek out the door to see his little sister.

But Sesera saved him the trouble and instead of answering she immediately opened the door.

"Oh! Brother is here", the surprised Eli exclaimed. "Good evening"

Lucius who was starstruck by how his sister looked right at that moment finally was able to compose himself and smiled at her. "You ready?", he asked as he extended his hand toward her.

Eli placed her hand on his and looked back at the maid, unconsciously she showed them a sheepish look and said, "Wish me luck, I guess", before leaving with her brother.

She didn't get to see her maids squeal and fangirl after she left with Sesera in lead.

The 2 Donatis walked passed by a long hallway in silence. Lucius is busy taking glances and admiring his sister secretly when Eleanor suddenly faced him.

" You look great in that suit brother", she said appreciating her brother's great appearance in a formal black with gold linings suit.

Lucius' ear started turning red as he replied with a small and shy "Thank you" while trying to hide it.

After a few more minutes of walking, they finally stopped in front of a big double door; one that leads them toward the place where the party/ ball is being held.

"Eleanor, Lucius", the 2 teens faced the newly arrived person behind them. With a curt bow, they greeted him formally, "We greet you, Your Grace Duke Donati"

Lucian dismissed them and soon the heavy and serious atmosphere turned into a light one after that.

"You look gorgeous my dear", he said with a small smile, patting Eli's head on the process.

Eleanor smiled, " And you look magnificent, your grace", she complimented him back.

Lucius and Lucian faced each other and just smiled at one another while looking into each other's eyes like they were communicating through just that.

Lucian held out his right arm toward his daughter as Lucius did the same using his left arm.

"Shall we?", they both said. Eli looked at the both of them while intertwining both of her arms on each of theirs, every single memory she had ever since she ended up in this world flashed right before her eyes.

When she started living her 2nd life, when she found out that this world is the world inside a novel, when she tried distancing herself and making sure she'll survive as an extra, when she met more people that became precious to her, when she received her mission from the goddess, when she's in a dilemma about what her next steps would be.

She remembered everything...

Even her plan to keep herself away from the spotlight for her to survive and not be caught up with all the dramas, she remembered it all.

But now, her principles, decisions, and the consequences of those caused her to be in this position...in this situation.

The words of that old lady came back to her again,

'The spotlight is now right in front me, and I already decided that I won't run away from it anymore. I can't run away from everything all the time, I have to face things now. No matter what happens I'll be responsible for everything that will happen, and I'm prepared for it'

"Now presenting, Duke Lucian Haven Donati, Master Lucius Ethel Donati, and Lady Eleanor Josiah Donati"

'Now it's time for me to enter the battlefield'

She looked at the 2 men waiting for her.

"Let's go!"
