"Hm? Is there something you'd like to ask me, young master Nilos? Lady Rion?" She asked, deciding to have her own conversation as the grown ups conversation begun to derail from backhanded compliments to sheer insults and threats of murdering one another.
The girl with the pink hair looked away as though she were caught doing something wrong, but the blue haired boy took away at firing off his questions. His purple eyes were so bright and shiny as though he didn't know of the terrible place the Argyris estate was. "Thank you for inviting me, Lady Theia. I hope we can become friends! Are you and young master Arkadios close? I'm really jealous, I want to get along with you too, Archie."
It sounded like they were already close, by the sounds of it. "I'm only here to guard Lady Theia, that's all, we're nothing too close." He responded likely not wanting to deal with the boy as well, handing him over to her.
"That is true, he is only here to be my guard for a little while. I do hope to have a good relationship with young master Nilos as well." As always, his questions for her only increased as soon as he heard those single two sentences. If the Argyris family had signature silver eyes, the Elyas family had signature magic, then the Leventis family had signature curious natures if nothing else.
Clasping his hands, he smiled even brighter than before. "How much longer? How long has it been? Why is it Archie and not an Argyris knight? Do you really want to get along? Could I call you Theia instead of Lady Theia or Lady Argyris? I've been meaning to ask but that's a really pretty animal around your neck. Could I touch him?"
Even with the adults threats to each other drowning out some of his questions, she could still hear the majority of it and my there were too many to respond to. "It's nothing more than a few weeks at most, young master Arkadios had decided to come to the Argyris estate in order to train his swordsmanship and magic in an unfamiliar environment for awhile, that is all." She smiled, lying through her teeth with ease.
Although she'd seen Arkadios training a few times with Rosalyn's guard, that was just a cover story. "As for Phius," she hummed, pressing a kiss to his head before turning back to him, the snake returning to hissing at him. "He's quite docile compared to my other beasts. If you'd like to, please go ahead and touch him." Yet again, she reminded others that Phius was docile compared to her other beasts, insinuating that she had stronger beasts hidden away while dodging the formality question.
Twiddling her thumbs, the pink haired girl spoke out as Nilos happily stood up and wandered over to her. "Lady Theia," she swallowed, she wondered whether this girl would pick a fight too. "May I touch him as well?" She asked, not making eye contact. The pink hair boy sighed as he spoke for her.
"Rion had been excited to attend for the past few days. She's wanted to talk to Lady Argyris for awhile now regarding the creature around your neck." Much more stuck up, that's the Vasilakis family she was used to.
Humming, she stood up, nodding at her as Nilos arrived by her side. "If Lady Rion would like, please feel free to pet Phius," Holding her hand out, Phius slithered until his head was resting at the chin of her palm. "Hold out your hand." She ordered Nilos who did as she instructed.
She made sure to not try and ruin her hard work for the past few days by placing her thumb on his head, placing a finger to her lips as he calmed down a bit, slowly slithering onto Nilos. She easily rearranged him to be wrapped around better, Phius was quite a long snake at the end of the day. "He likely won't choke you, but just in case try not to make sudden movements." She commented casually as she turned towards Rion.
"Would you also like to hold my Phius?" She asked, the girl quickly shook her head. "That's too much of an honor, I'm happy just to be able to touch him." Sizing her up, it's more likely she wanted to hold her but was afraid the weight of Phius would crush her and she'd embarrass herself while in front of others.
Nilos was delighted to hold Phius and was gushing at him as the snake expressed her internally feelings outwardly, attempting to bite him a few times and even choke him as Rion begun petting him. Comparing Nilos and Rion were night and day, one was hated and the other was appreciated. He seemed to like her pets way more.
Finally taking him back, he slithered onto her with ease and wrapped around her body, tail curling around her waist and nudging against her. "Good boy Phius, I'm glad you didn't bite. It would of been a pain to deal with venom bites." She praised him, purposely choosing her words.
Instead of being turned off, Nilos and Rion looked more excited than anything. "Does he normally bite? What species is he? Is he really venomous, that's so cool Theia can handle it!" mixed in with little mumbles of, "So he was venomous, I assumed so because of his scales. Lady Theia is truly amazing to not only raise him but to have the confidence to handle him with others." She couldn't deny it felt good hearing that.
She noticed the adults had also begun quieting down and were more focused on their children than anything. "Ah. Did I forget to mention Phius was venomous? I apologize." She hummed as the doors opened again, stealing everyone's attention as the guests she were pleading for to not arrived finally entered.
Walking up to them, she stared at the red haired woman who's eyes bore into her, smiling condescendingly at everyone as she tapped her foot, a boy with piercing red eyes beside her and a timid expression. "Lady Theia Argyris greets the third prince," she curtsied for the boy first, moving onto the woman. "Lady Theia Argyris greets Lady Selene Giehl."
