Cain nodded, satisfied, and handed Lupion's corpse to the old man. Becoming an elder was what he had aimed for, and he was pleased he only had to reveal one corpse, allowing him to keep Lotario's corpse hidden.
He did not really care if people knew he had killed other Godslayer Humans, but Lotario had been a Middle Divine Transcendence Master, and his body remained intact, a feat that could raise many eyebrows. Even a Late Divine Transcendence Master would find it extremely difficult to leave behind such a perfect corpse, and displaying Lotario's body might incite the curiosity of the Third Realm powerhouses in the sect. Cain did not wish to deal with that kind of scrutiny—not so soon, at least.
As for Martis, the old Hell Clan member who had just recorded Cain's merits, he was oblivious to all these calculations. He seemed not to care about what Cain chose to reveal or hide. He simply stored Lupion's corpse and then handed the young man a space ring.
