Cain descended slowly, his massive wings casting a shadow over the ruined battlefield. He landed beside the fallen Legend, his eyes cold and indifferent as he gazed down at Ansen. There was no pity, only the cold calculation of a predator finishing off its prey.
Ansen, in his final moments, could only look up at the dragon looming over him. The fury and pain in his eyes had not diminished, but there was also fear and regret.
Cain did not hesitate. With a swift motion, he lowered his massive head and opened his jaws wide, revealing rows of razor-sharp teeth glistening with dark scarlet flames. Ansen barely had time to register what was happening before those jaws closed around him, consuming him whole.
