Chapter 4 - Chapter 4 - 2nd Eternite Invasion

[ October 1927 ]

Famous scientists around the world gathered in a conference called the Fifth Solvay Conference.

The conference was not to discuss a particular branch of science, but to discuss Eternite.

After the First Eternite Invasion, the humans realized their weakness. The humans knew that their knowledge of the enemy was minimal.

For that reason, scientists all over the world gather to discuss their knowledge of Eternite. Also to find a solution how to deal with a second invasion if Eternite invades again.

...

Humans' first battle with Eternite may end in a draw. But it's not entirely because of the power of Humans. Eternite backs down because of something humans don't know.

In fact, if you count losses. Humans were greatly harmed in that invasion. Forget about the destruction of buildings, treasures, tools, and so on because they can't be counted.

The human population, especially in the Northern Continent, was drastically reduced. And the number of men who could fight became very few. It was because most of the soldiers were killed in the First Invasion.

Even so, humans have no time to complain.

Humans must remember that we (humans) have faced various disasters that almost made us extinct, but in the end, we still stand as rulers of the earth.

Now it won't be any different either. We (humans) will eventually survive.

...

As previously mentioned.

The previous battle had not only resulted in bad things. Many new things were learned that are useful for human life, such as Eternite Energy.

In addition, hidden families from various corners of the world began to appear.

Two of them attended the conference, namely the Destin Family and the Akahasa Family.

The Destin family, from Europe, were famous for their knowledge and information especially during the Invasion, while the Akahasa family was famous for their technology and weapons.

The two families have made humans able to survive to this day.

...

Even so, during the conference there was only one person who stole the world's attention, namely Akahasa Ryoma, the head of the Akahasa Family at that time.

At the conference Ryoma said that his group had studied and made various technologies and weapons that existed only in their imagination. It was created after his group researched the Eternite phenomenon.

With this technology, humanity can better prepare for the next Eternite disaster. That's what he said.

In addition, he also hopes to work with Einstein Destin to create a bomb that has a wide range, but without radiation that is harmful to the environment.

And the Destin family, represented by Einstein, accepted it.

.....

At the conference, one of the participants asked Ryoma.

How could Ryoma think of such amazing things. Some of them didn't even occur to them.

Ryoma just smiled and answered.

"Just because our minds can't imagine it, doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

Just because our logic can't accept it, doesn't mean it's impossible.

The Eternite phenomena have opened our eyes, they have shown us, something beyond common sense.

It's time for birds like us to fly out of the cage (which is called logic)."

His words have excited researchers around the world. They realized that thanks to their new knowledge of Eternite, something, which was in their imagination, might be made.

...

After the Conference, Akahasa Ryoma became the leader of the ETER Union.

[ September 1939 ]

The Second Eternite Invasion took place. It split into two waves. The first wave occurred in Germany.

Unlike before, the human race was better prepared so they could fight back.

However, before they could strike back, the second wave occurred in Hiroshima, Japan.

...

...

[ August 1945 ]

The second wave begins with the appearance of a humanoid Ruler in the form of a girl.

After its appearance, a black hole forms behind it and then Eternite begins to appear.

It is known that the Ruler that appears has control over space. It was known when Eternite in Germany disappeared suddenly, then appeared in Japan. Therefore, he was given the name Ruler Of Space.

...

At that time, Japan was not very prepared. So, assuming that the attack would spiral out of control if left unchecked, a suggestion was made to use the Atomic Bomb.

However, Ryoma disapproves of it because the civilians still haven't been evacuated and the weapon still needs to be tested.

However, there was no time left. It forced the other higher-ups in the ETER Union to take over and prepare.

Ryoma, who knew about it, disappeared.

Unbeknownst to people, he was trying to evacuate the victims. He put on the equipment his group had made and then fought the Eternite.

And the bomb was finally dropped on Hiroshima. It destroyed the city.

Although there is no sign of Ruler's death. However, the Eternite invasion of Japan became controllable.

Of course, the price for that was the deaths of many people, one of whom was Ryoma himself.

This was known after the survivors gave their statements.

It shocked the world. Many people grieve.

The person who lost his family, who should have been angry about the bombing, was also saddened and did not blame him. While the people who survived the incident considered him a hero.

Einstein, who had become Ryoma's best friend, resigned from the ETER Union in disappointment. His position was replaced by his successor. So did the Akahasa family.

[ 30 minutes later ]

Time passed without me noticing.

After Mei and I finished reading the book, we started to tidy up our place. Although there were some guards who could do it, but Mei insisted on cleaning it herself.

"Your great-grandfather was amazing wasn't he."

Mei said admiringly as she continued to tidy up her book.

I couldn't help but smile because it reminded me of something.

...

Grandfather once told the truth, about my great-grandfather's story.

One thing the world doesn't know is that the main reason Akahasa Ryoma was so against launching the atomic bomb, it was because he intended to save one person, and that was his wife.

True, unexpectedly his wife was in Hiroshima.

He was adamant not to launch an atomic bomb because he wanted to save his wife first.

However he realized that was impossible, the situation was very difficult back then.

After learning about the preparations for the bomb launch, Ryoma immediately used the equipment that his Family had been researching for years.

The equipment is a complete set of armor and weapons.

It was actually a failed research because the equipment absorbed life energy. So, the price for wearing that equipment was death.

Of course, his wife knew the side effects of the equipment because she was part of the researcher.

His wife was as stupid as Ryoma, so she used the same gear and the pair fought the Eternite to the end.

...

The story left me with mixed feelings, from sadness to admiration.

It's sad that Ryoma and his wife died, but I'm amazed at the couple's love.

At least they lived together and died together. It was better than living alone in excruciating pain.

Akahasa Ryoma chooses the person he loves.

It's wrong from someone else's point of view, but not from mine.

I would also do the same if it happened in Mei. I won't let anything happen to her.

Doesn't the world know it? no, because in their eyes, the couple headed for Hiroshima together.

However, it wasn't wrong either because in the process, Ryoma had indeed saved a lot of people.

...

...

After that, the Akahasa Family was increasingly recognized by the world. The results did not disappoint as some extraordinary people were born into the family, like my grandfather and parents.

My grandfather was more into combat so he was quite famous in the military world.

As for my parents, they are quite famous researchers. If the events of 5 years ago didn't happen, then one of them would probably become the leader of the ETER Union.

I just smile thinking about it.

"Indeed, my family is wonderful."
