After telling Victor to look for Aurora, Eric went to see Queen Norma. Spotting him coming through, Queen Norma immediately stood up despite the physician telling her not to as he had just applied a soothing balm on her head, arms and feet which required her to lay inside the warm blanket to work properly.
"Don't get up, mother." Eric came close to her bed and made her lay back down by holding her shoulders.
He could look her in the eye as he felt guilty for leaving her alone in all this mess. He was the reason why she had to go through all of this on her own. If he hadn't been a coward and ran away, this would have been prevented. He wasn't even mad at her for giving his crown to her brother as he had no right to do so after he didn't take over his responsibilities. She had lost the man she loved as well so he wasn't the only one who needed condolence and space.
