"Don't rush things out, Elena..." his voice was almost pleading. I got distracted. I almost cut my index finger because of that.
I stopped for a moment to glance at him.
"What do you mean?"
He didn't answer and just stared at me. His eyes were blank, contradicting his half opened lips that seemed wanting to say something but don't know how to express it in words, or more like stopping himself.
He kept his mouth shut and averted his gaze. I blinked. Realizing he wouldn't answer I looked back at the furniture and continued doing so. I acted slowly but quickly.
"You want some help?" then he asked.
Now that he mentioned it... I actually need some. Though I can manage it, I prefer him doing something than staring at me the whole time. I can't be bothered then.
"Uh, boil that pasta," I replied without looking at him. I noticed him leaving the seat. Maybe to do what I said.
