The white, fluffy bucket cap neatly covered her wavy black hair as she chomped down on the seasoned, grilled corn with her small mouth. The boatman rowed the boat across the river, offering a nearly perfect view. The sun casted a golden glow over the water creating a picturesque scene that seemed straight out of a painting.
"Want some?" she asked, offering the half-eaten piece of her corn to Lloyd. Her eyes sparkled with joy, reflecting the playful nature of the moment.
"Umm... sure," he said, taking the piece of corn from her. As he began to eat, the familiar flavor reminded him of the corn he used to make at home during summer evenings. The taste transported him back to simpler times, bringing a smile to his face.
'Tastes like bhutta,' he thought, savoring the nostalgia. The memory of his childhood and family gatherings flooded his mind, making him feel a mix of warmth and longing.
Despite his initial reservations about the outing, he found himself enjoying the time with her more than he had expected. They talked about everything under the sun, ate their snacks, took countless photos, and did silly things like teenagers, letting go of all their worries and simply having fun.
"Second stop, amusement park!" she exclaimed with excitement as they got into the cab again, her enthusiasm infectious.
After finishing their serene river sightseeing, they headed to the bustling amusement park. The park was alive with vibrant colors, loud music, and the laughter of children. It was a stark contrast to the peaceful boat ride but equally enjoyable.
"Ahhhh!" Lise shouted as the roller coaster dived down at full speed, her face a mix of terror and exhilaration.
"Hey! It's fun!" Lloyd shouted back, sitting beside her. He was enjoying the ride immensely. Seeing Lise's scared face made him laugh, and he didn't miss the opportunity to take photos of her screaming. He planned to show them to her later as a fun reminder of the day.
They explored the park, going on various rides. Whether it was the thrill of the roller coaster, the refreshing water slides, the excitement of go-karting, or the leisurely boating, they enjoyed every moment.
"Hey… should I buy those?" she asked, her eyes lighting up at the sight of bunny ear headbands at a stall. She looked like a child in a candy store, unable to contain her excitement.
"Will you stop if I say no?" Lloyd asked, munching on the cotton candy he had bought. He was holding another one for Lise, waiting for her to finish her crepe first.
"Noooo..." she replied with a playful pout.
"Then go ahead, buy it," he sighed.
Even if he had said no, he knew there was no stopping her. She had a way of getting what she wanted, just like how she had dragged him everywhere that day. She wasn't the kind to listen to others in situations like these.
She eagerly went to the seller and bought two cute bunny headbands. She came back, her face beaming with happiness, holding the headbands triumphantly.
Looking at the other headband in her hand, he asked, confused, "Why did you buy two headbands?" He tilted his head sideways in confusion.
"Oh, this one's for you! Wear it!" she insisted, trying to hand him the headband. He crossed his arms and said, "No! No! No! I'm not wearing this. I'll look goofy!"
"Why! I bought it for you..." she said, her eyes becoming watery like a puppy's when denied more food.
Seeing her sad puppy eyes, he couldn't help but soften a bit. "Fine," he said, giving in.
He snatched the bunny ears and put them on, blushing a little as his cheeks reddened. He felt a bit silly but also touched by her gesture.
"AWWW! You look so cute now! Let's take a picture," she exclaimed with delight.
She grabbed his hand and dragged him to the nearest photo booth. "Hey! Why so shy? Give some poses; I need to take good photos!" she urged, positioning herself in front of the camera.
"Do I have to? Can't we just do it normally?" Lloyd asked, standing stiffly behind her.
"Well... no, I need you to do poses, and the machine also requires you to do mandatory poses," she assertedwith her playful tone.
As they posed for the pictures, Lloyd couldn't help but feel a mix of embarrassment and amusement. He posed making heart signs with his hands, pulling onto his bunny ears while smiling, and many other countless poses.
"Lise, I was wondering why I can't sense any type of mana or aura emitting from you. It's as if you don't have any," Lloyd asked as they made their way to the haunted house. He couldn't grasp how powerful she truly was.
"Oh... I didn't tell you? I can't train aura or magic because my mana heart and Di were corrupted at birth," she replied nonchalantly.
"Wait, what? You can't train in mana or aura? Why?" He had a guess about why that might be the case but was still confused about how she was affected by her mother's condition.
"Well... for some unknown reason, due to sharing the same blood as my mother in her womb, the demon poison also made its way into my bloodstream, corrupting my cores. It's a blessing that I'm still alive," she laughed it off.
"Oh... I'm sorry," Lloyd said, feeling a pang of guilt for bringing it up.
"That's fine. I'm just a little special compared to everyone else," she answered cheerfully, not minding his curiosity.
Her explanation cleared his confusion about why she seemed so weak and almost empty to him. The reason was that she couldn't train with any kind of energy.
'Well... her condition is curable, but only five years from now when that mad scientist accidentally discovers a cure for this poisoning while trying to create biological weapons against demons,' he thought to himself.
"You know what? I will find a cure for your condition," he said with determination.
"Oh, thanks! I'll be looking forward to that," she replied, even though she knew her condition didn't have any known cure. She didn't want Lloyd to feel bad and hopeless.
"Oh, it's our turn now," Lise said as they reached the entrance of the haunted house. Both of them stepped inside.
"It's so creepy and dark!" Lise exclaimed, clinging to Lloyd's arm like a monkey.
"Boo!" Lloyd shouted in her ear.
"Arghh!" she shrieked, jumping up like a startled cat.
"Hahaha! You're overreacting now," Lloyd laughed, enjoying her reaction.
"Holy shit!" Suddenly, a scarecrow-like figure appeared, making Lloyd's heart almost leap out of his chest.
"Now who's overreacting, sir?" Lise teased.
"Oh, that just took me by surprise. I wasn't scared!" Lloyd insisted, trying to maintain his tough demeanor in front of her.
After a while, they both emerged from the haunted house, terrified and clinging to each other.
"I'm never coming here again," Lise declared, clearly traumatized by the experience.
"Me too..." Lloyd agreed.

Their last ride to conclude the day was the Ferris wheel, which offered a view of the entire amusement park and the bustling city, brimming with lights.
"Thanks for inviting me. I didn't realize how much I needed this," Lloyd said sincerely, feeling a deep sense of gratitude.
Lloyd hadn't realized how much he needed a day to put away all the stress and simply enjoy himself. It had been over half a year since he had arrived, and he hadn't taken a break like this. Thanks to Lise, he felt refreshed and renewed.
"See, see, see! I told you it would be fun, right? You were grumbling for no reason," Lise said, her eyes glowing and her smile the biggest it had been all day. She felt that today had been worth it.
"Let's do this again sometime," she suggested.
Lloyd smiled and nodded.
