Chapter 10 - Time for training

"Fire of Scandia" he murmured.

Red flames wholly engulfed the book and turned it into ashes. He limited the effect to prevent himself from burning down the desk.

"Let's not leave any evidence."

Everyone knew the reason he did that because that's what everyone else would have done as well. The practically worthless notebook before Llyod wrote it was turned into a treasure.

The book contained the most valuable information about the future. It had information about important events that were going to take place. One could consider it a book of the future only if one could believe it.

It stored every bit of information that Lloyd read in the novel along with his plans. He didn't have to write it down in a notebook, but he wrote it down because he wanted to confirm he remembered all that he had found.

"Shall I head to the training ground, now?"

After taking care of the remains, he stood up.

"Ah! I didn't realize the time."

He did some basic body stretches. He didn't realize that he had been sitting in the same position for hours, and because of that, his body stiffened. The stretches relaxed his body and cracking sounds satisfied him because they relieved him from the stiffness.

'Let's see what's outside this room after arriving in this world'

He was excited to see the world outside. After coming to this world he stayed in this boring plain white room for over fifteen days. He had figured out what he could about this world from the inside of the walls of his room.

Now, it was time for him to see everything by himself. Joy bubbled up inside him and a child-like grin surfaced on his face. Even though he was a grown-up adult but still had a child-like curiosity when finds something new and interesting.

- Whoosh

As soon as he placed his feet in front of the gate, it slid open automatically without making any irritating noise. He hid his facial expression and finally set foot outside the room.

"It's always awfully quiet like this."

It was because every servant except Alaya left his side after he was exiled from the main family. Alaya was the only person who had stayed by his side, even though there were chances she would also get targeted.

For Lloyd, she wasn't a servant but his only family after his parents died. It was only on the outside she called him 'Young master' but truly she treated him like her younger brother.

"Being blood-related isn't necessary to be a family."

A smile surfaced on his face.

His training ground was on the underground floor and his room was on the first floor. His house wasn't a castle, but more a like manor. An empty one.

He quickly headed to the ground floor by using the staircase. When he was on the first floor, he saw Alaya. She was working. Just like always, she wore a warm smile on her pretty face.

"Where are you heading young master? You look in rush."

She asked, tilting her head sideways. She was perplexed by his sudden behavior. For the last two years, she had never seen him like this. He always kept himself in his room, but for a while, after he was poisoned she noticed the changes in his behavior.

It was like his old self was slowly returning. She felt he was overcoming his weaknesses and was planning on blooming again.

"Training ground has been empty for a while. Don't you think I should clean?" he said cheerily.

She understood what he meant by those words. The smile widened on her face.

"Indeed."

She nodded and chuckled.

'Has he finally overcome his traumas?'

She thought. A glitter of hope also returned to her eyes, which were lost.

In just a few seconds the floor tiles were displaced and a staircase leading to the underground training ground surfaced. It was pitch dark inside it. He thought as soon as he set foot on the stairs a monster would drag him into the abyss.

After looking at it for a bit he sat foot on the stairs and as soon as he sat foot on the stairs the pitch-dark area was brightened by the lights.

The gate of the training ground opened silently and swiftly. It was oddly satisfying to look at. He entered and the whole training ground lit up.

A musty smell entered his nostrils. Even though it was sealed but somehow had accumulated dust on the weapons and the floor. It wasn't dirty, only dusty.

The whole ground was underground and it was how he expected it to be. It looked plain and yet looked so futuristic. The whole area was about a football field.

"This is perfect for someone like me."

There were multiple weapon racks of different kinds of weapons that surfaced above the ground as soon as he stepped into the ground. The door behind him was sealed shut.

"Shall I introduce myself to the weapons, now?"

He went to the rack of swords. There were multiple kinds of swords, great swords, long swords, etc. You name it and it was on that rack.

He took a simple-looking medium-length sword with a piercing tip. He picked it up because in his memories Lloyd was most familiar with this kind of sword.

"It feels so light."

He was amazed by how light it felt as he swung it around like an amateur.

"I'm feeling a sense of familiarity even though I have never even touched a sword."

He continued to swing it around. It was because of muscle memory along with the experience Lloyd had accumulated that benefited an amateur Axtrav an expert.

In the end, it was the result of his hard work and experience along with his talent, again. It gave him the upper hand from the beginning because he didn't have to start from zero.

He had thorough knowledge about everything about sword techniques and magic because of his memories. It was an advantage that everyone would have enjoyed if they were in his situation. It was a matter of how one would utilize it to its potential.

"Let's get serious..."
