"I feel weird when you call me that. Just refer to me as Faust."
"Mr. Faust, if you need any supplies for the operation, please tell me. You have officially become a member of the Streetlight Talon under my wing. Your needs for the success of the mission is under my jurisdiction."
"Hmm, I think I only have one thing to request."
"And that will be?"
"An empty large storage room within the Vascular."
"How empty should it be?" Toronto gave me a glance.
"As empty as possible."
After that, we went into a room full of numerous communication devices and intelligence officers, carrying and transferring documents while the desk warriors sorted their piles of papers and shredded the unwanted one.
"Integrity!" shouted the Cheshire Cat.
"Yes boss!"
A seemingly normal officer approached the four of us.
"Do we have any large storage buildings on the surface? Preferably within the Vascular."
"We do have one, sir!" The officer scourged the files on one of the desks inside the room. "But it was located at the southwest near the center of the District where our conflict with the Yugen Extra and the 'Red Marauder' is at an all time high."
"What about the content?"
"It's mostly architecture materials, sir!" The officer took a copy of the District's map and pinged the location before offering it to the Cheshire Cat.
"Send two Headlamps to move them all into one of the underground storages. And then dispatch a 'Hatter' to finish up the 'Red Marauder' from the southwest." Toronto took the map and gave it a peek before giving it to me. "Are you fine with this, Leprechaun?"
It only took me a single glance to memorize the route. "You don't need to send a Hatter, you know?"
While the Streetlight Talon often takes defensive measures within their turf. Sometimes, they would dispatch a raid specialist that was expert at blowing the shit up.
A squad of those specialists was called a Hatter. They were mostly sent to another District as a third party mercenary under the Streetlight Talon's name, mostly because they were bad at peace enforcement and protecting the people within the turf who paid the Syndicate for protection.
There was a reason why the Streetlight Talon was the ally of the Lowstreet. They didn't discriminate, they didn't senselessly raid, they didn't meddle with someone's businesses, their protection fee was cheap, and they would always take drastic measures when it came to the poor when a battle royale within the Vascular escalated than needed.
To the people of the Lowstreet, the Streetlight Talon was the best that they could have in this District.
It was also the reason why the Lowstreet of District 67 was one of the most tame compared to other District's Lowstreet. Though of course, not all sides of the spectrum like that.
And that was why they created the Hatters.
"The turf under the Red Marauder has been encouraging violent Syndicates like the Masked Butchers and the Purple Smokers, who often sneak into our territory from time to time.
"At first, they were part of the Vascular's economy. Now, they have become more and more ungrateful. By that, I meant the lower ranking of Syndicates."
"A total annihilation for the dirt, huh. Then how about the situation with the Yugen Extra?"
"Just like you have seen, they have made a breakthrough with their equipment, capable of rendering even the strongest of our men." Toronto then pointed at me. "The new uniform is capable of negating the harmful substances immediately when it enters the veins and flesh of the wearer."
"Don't tell me, you have reverse engineered their poison, and implemented them at the very same day?"
"The sacrifices of our men are the breaking point of that invention. The Streetlight Talon agreed to share District 67 two years ago, only for those impurities to bite the hands that were feeding them."
I shifted my face to my new goons. "Nusa, Neijya, go outside and wait for my arrival."
""Yes, sir!""
Toronto sighed. "Something that you want to tell that those two don't need to hear?"
"I once planned to merely hunt for money. Now that I'm intrigued, I want more to the deal."
"Don't need to worry about the money, we have more to spend."
"Sweet. Also." I glared at the specific document on top of the desk with data of a person from the Yugen Extra. "How many people from the Yugen Extras have you kept in track of?"
"We pretty much have updated their recruitment channel and every member that was active at the start of this month."
"How many members do they have currently?"
"789 people are stationed in this District, and 223 more in District 66."
"Nice. I want the information of 100 of them within this District, compiled into a single document with another exact copy of it. Don't need to filter anything, just put random names and random ranks into the bowl."
After that, both Toronto and I waited for the request to be done.
They gave me two documents with the same content, just like I wanted. They also included the picture of the person within the files, which was more than enough for me to do my thing.
I opened one of the documents and began to read everything within it.
The names, the height, the background, the birthday. It only took me ten minutes to memorize everything.
"Yup, this shall do." The document let out a clasp as I closed them. "May I know when the storage will be cleared?"
"Estimatedly, one hour."
"Cool."
I brought the two documents with me. While the documents aren't that heavy, having only one hand sure made everything a lot more cumbersome.
"Oh btw, what is the number of my Headlamp?"
"As per protocol, the number of a special squad that will only last for a short period of time will be 'zero'."
"Headlamp Zero, huh. I like that."
With everything set, I have nothing left to do without this room.
Upon exiting the door, Toronto stopped me with his speech.
"Faust of the Hunter Gathering, how many days until you start your hunt?"
"Hmm, today." I slightly tilted my head. "It will also be done in the evening."
"... As expected of the man who crushed the heart of the Golden Beard." For the first time ever, the Cheshire Cat showed his grin. "Don't be too harsh on my people."
"Aight, don't worry." When I exited the room. The door automatically closed. "I'll turn them into real hunters."
