"Preposterous!" He shouted with a whimsical tone. "You have the strength, the will, the mindset, and the knowledge." He took a sip of his cigar once again. "If you start again now, I believe that it would only take you one year to become an 'Urban Motif' of the City. Or if you swing on the other way, a 'Motif Patcher'!"
"Now you're just exaggerating." I chuckled. "That only came from a ridiculous myth."
"Does everything still saddens you?"
That came out of nowhere.
"... It indeed still is."
Hans put on a stern face. "You don't deserve to latch on your 'smiling mask' then."
"Can't do, it has been fully glued to my face, a curse that I cast upon myself."
"Say, Faust. What would you do if I'm not the one that is approaching you with my Rotte of Doppelsoldners?"
"I would probably be able to kill one or two before running away."
"... Again, with your well-crafted lines."
Hans stood up, towering me once again as I was bathed by his shadow.
He walked a few steps away from me. At that time frame, I could clearly see the mighty Zweihander on his back.
The few illumination from the wounded Hive and the incoming massive helicopter shed their light upon my eyes, only could be seen after I noticed that I was graced within someone's shadow.
Hans took out a spherical device from his pocket storage gloves and cast it onto the sky. The sphere expanded into a giant dome of electrical barrier where no information could be gathered from one side to the other.
"You're pathetic, Faust."
He gripped on the upper left Katzbalger strapped on his waist, slowly unsheathing it as if there was a tremendous weight behind it. At the same time, the exposed blade of the short sword was illuminating a bright red light to the surroundings.
And all of a sudden, a huge wave of red smoke was produced, traveling at random direction before steering itself to my position.
My spear was already on my hand all the time, so I rigorously spun it. Only to realize afterward, that my skin that got contacted by the red smoke was wounded as if it were clawed by a beast.
Hans then sheathed his upper left Katzbalger. The moment he did so, all of the destructive red smoke was dispersed into nothing.
The wind churned inside, and blew onto his huge-ass jacket, making it waved like it was on fire.
He put on a huge shit-eating grin.
"Freakish Leprechaun! You will get our spar whether you want it or not!"
"Dumbass Wolpertinger! It seems like staying with those garish Landsknechts has made your brain rotten to discern common logic!"
The whole keypoint area has been made into a wild colosseum with no spectators. The barrier ceiling was shot up fifty meters to the sky, and probably around one hundred fifty meters wide.
This big man might look sluggish with his tall-as-heck body, but the amount of modification procedure and enhancement potion he consumed was probably higher than my meat stew consumption.
Which was very bad for me.
Before I could think any further, Hans slowly unsheathed his second Katzbalger on the bottom left of his waist, with his left hand.
Particles of light started to manifest within the surrounding, as it was getting sucked through the gap of the sheath and the exposed part of the blade.
He then sheathed that short sword, but unlike the first Katzbalger, the light that was collected didn't disperse. Instead, it was swirling around the sheath like a slow vortex.
Upon noticing the cue, I immediately rushed forward like a suicide soldier.
Using the same hand, Hans immediately pulled the upper right Katzbalger with great speed, unleashing the blue scattering lightning. The swirling light then latched itself on the third short sword as he swung it to the sky.
And my spear that was hurled towards his head.
Both of the opposing edges clashed.
The Kalzbeiger he used constantly emitted thunder to the surroundings. The great force behind it had also forced me to keep adding strength to push my spear down, as I got suspended in the air.
Countless pieces of rubble were slowly ascending into the air.
"That spear you used, it has a considerable amount of Anti-MIND property."
"Of course, it's my favorite."
His strength overwhelmed me as I got thrown away. I have a great balance so landing safely was not a difficulty.
The moment I regained my footing, I saw a huge pillar of lighting was going in my direction, following the slash from the third Katzbalger.
In quick succession, I gripped the handle of my spear tightly and pushed myself by rowing the ground with the tip.
"You're trying to kill me!" I shouted. "That is counterproductive from the statement you threw a couple of minutes ago!!"
Hans then sheathed his third Katzbalger, looking all smug and annoyed.
"Then get your grip and use your MIND, you cheap driller of thin plank!"
"This ain't fair! You wore a pricy fabric that not even my spear can pierce!"
"Then use your MIND!"
Tch, I'm not even fully synchronized with this MIND yet. Apparently, Frieden is quite a troublesome teenager that demands many annoying things.
Well, that's what MIND was in general.
Miniaturized Implant of Non-metaphysical Derealization, or in other word, MIND, was coined in such a way because it reflected the usage and creation.
Made from a weird and atypical creature named Nihils, they inherited the 'will' and the 'soul', which were suppressed into its core infant state to be used in physical matter, and then inserted into a specially crafted vessel for it to take form.
And in its purest state, the owner was able to fully synchronize and command the MIND without much complications if they had strong enough 'will' of their own.
Indeed.
You could say that they have a 'mind' of their own.
Sorry, not sorry for the dad joke,
