Deep in the heart of a place known as the "Dead-Wood Forest" a storm, with ominous purple lightning and dark stormy clouds, was brewing just above a small clearing where the pungent smell of blood hug heavily only to be just barely masked by the scent of freshly fallen rain and burning wood.
Littering the damp forest floor was a sight one could only describe as grotesque. Dozens of bodies in various states of mutilation where scattered around forming a perfect circle.
At the center stood one alone that differed from the rest. A feminine figure stood unmoving while adorning a slew of vulpine esque features. Though having the traditional fox ears and tails that were typically seen in the spirit-fox branch of the tailed beast clan the little girl also had a patch of silkily black fur on her fore arms that ran up from her wrist to just past her elbow, while on her bare legs the same soft fur ran from just above her small ankles, up past her knees and stopped half way up her thighs; from afar it looked as if she were just wearing a pair of arm & leg warmers.
This figure was the only one still standings seemingly un-bothered by the harsh winds and raging storm that stood just overhead, the young girl stood blankly staring dead ahead as if her soul had already fled from its mortal imprisonment.
As the storm continued to rage on time seemed to stand still as seconds begun to feel like minutes, and minutes into hours. The silence inside the clearing was deafing until finally a semblance of life flickered inside the child's body.
"Oh? What is this? Someone has finally managed to merge with my inheritance... Mnn and it is one so young aswell... Hmm it seems this wasn't through choice however."
The girls dry cracked lips opened letting fourth a sound that was both a mix of a innocent youth and ancient authority creating a distorted yet strangely pleasant sounding voice that echoed through the clearing.
"Mortal greed will never cease to amaze me to force this upon a child." The voice let out what seemed to be a tired sigh.
"Then as our law dictates, in the case one manages to inherit our power without their consent or knowledge a boon must be granted to the inheritor before we depart..."
"You shall receive your boon along with my power. However.... to have this situation come to bear in the first place is a great affront to me in itself..." As the voice continued to speak one could feel a pure, unrivaled bloodlust began to boilin the air around the child making the very ground shake as the ancient one spoke once more.
"It was not your choosing for this to happen, so you or your clan are not to blame youngling." After these words fell the head of the little girl slowly turned in a rather exaggerated manner before stopping so that her closed eyes fell to rest upon a certain corpse that layed up against a half destroyed tree.
"However these humans shall not escape blame.... As such I will reluctantly brake a promise I once made. Nitäl my time has come.. as such I can no longer look after your life essence thus I take it as my own and pass it down with my inheritance." Reaching out its dainty hand the body of the little girl reached out towards the corpse with an open hand.
The effect was immediate. All the blood in the clearing began to charging towards that charred corpse with a grand fever. Once most of the blood had gathered the little girl closed her palm and once again, the blood immediately responded. Small little rivers of blood cut through the loose forest floor with ease in their rush to follow whatever call drew it to that single corpse. The entire process happened in just the blink of in eye; first new arms and legs where formed out of blood that quickly hardened and solidified before changing in color to match the rest of the body. Second, any vital organs would be replaced while the rest would be reformed only for decoration. Third and finally, the charred skin and open chest cavity would be healed along with the head and brain along with any other cosmetic areas such as hair and genitals.
Once the process was finally completed the corpse corpse was fully restored if one were to guess they would think the man dressed in black robs with a full head of blonde hair was only sleeping.
"Once this body awakens you will be their to cater to its every need, but do not think this is your only punishment, no, for as long as this body continues to live so will you and through life you will cursed to face an unending nightmare.. Either awake or sleeping the agonizing torture that this body had to endure will be felt as clear as day in unending waves." As the immense bloodlust fled the area so did the domineering and wise aura that the voice once had. Slowly the child like voice that had at first mixed harmoniously with the rough and raspy voice had now begun to slowly take over.
"It seems my time is finally coming to an end... Good. I will finally be able to rest. Go little one and achieve what I could not! Let no one tell you what is and is not achievable! For you are my inheritor! The child of death and calamity itself! This world shall become your play ground little one, for you are no longer a simple mortal! You are a Primordial!"
--------
As the gentle morning rays of the sun eagerly began to peek over the distant horizon, the storm clouds that had once raged with unbridled fury had now began to gently part giving way to a clear blue sky.
In a small clearing a small grunt could be heard cutting through the sweet symphonies of the morning song birds. following the cute childlike grunt a small head suddenly jerked up tossing off the freshly fallen leaves that had begun to bury it to reveal the face of a cute little girl no older then 8 or 9 years of age. Atop the young girls head rested a pair of cute and fuzzy vulpine ears that seemed to hear to be listening to everything all at once. In the space where a normal human might find a pair of ears a set of thick, demonic like horns grew out before curving around so that they framed the little girls face almost perfectly.
Once fully awake the girl's crystal blue eyes darted all around to take in her surroundings only to cause a small frown to appear on her thin yet supple lips. She had no idea how she arrived at this place!
"Mum?" Her sweet voice echoed a small ways out only serving to startle the nearby birds away from their small perches.
"Madam! You have finally awakened!" A startled yelp escaped from the fox girls throat as her head whipped around to see who had snuck up behind her.
It was a man, a rather young one at that, with a headful of shaggy blonde hair that stood out wonderfully against the deep forest green and the rising morning sun. There on one knee he stood unmoving as his black robes fluttered slightly in the wind.
"Madam, please do not be alarmed! This slaves name is James Nar'vaid (Nar-V-aid) I was sent by the clan to take care of you in your mother stead" As he spoke he finally lifted his head causing the hood of his robe to fall down to his shoulders allowing the fox girl to get a good look at his face.
A sharp jawline paired with a stubbled blonde beard and piercing emerald green eyes gave the man called "James" a rather sharp aura to him, however none of that sharpness could be felt as his gaze locked onto the little girl before him.
"I-I see... My name is Thalia Nightfallen (Th-al-ya). Seeing as the clan sent you.. would you happen to know where mother went? We were coming back from the northern region to visit fathe- *Ahem* the clan leader, but... I seem to be lost" Though a little disappointed and confused, Thalia none the less accepted the situation rather easily. In fact for some odd reason she had the nagging feeling that it would be best not to question things too deeply.
"You must forgive this slave, for I was not left with any information nor Instructions other then taking care of your every need, no matter where you may travel I am sworn to follow in your footsteps my mistress."
"I see... but the question is where should I go? I don't know how to get back to my clan.." A small frown blossomed across Thalia's small lips once again as her groggy/sleepy mind had finally began to clear up. Intending to stand up, she began to push herself upright but stopped when she felt something fall from her lap, completely on instinct one of her three tails shot out to catch the object.
Looking down she found a small, yet thick little book resting snugly between the fluff of her tail. being the curious little fox she was naturally she took it and began to inspect it. At first glance the book seemed rather simple in design but upon further inspection one could not deny the detailed craftsmanship behind it.
Though she did not know to witch animal it belonged to, the hide used for the backing of the book was of certainly of high quality. The pale white leather was soft and smooth to the touch and carried strangely carried with it a suddle minty scent with it: for some reason when Thalia touched it she couldn't help but be remined of her own mother. On the books cover two aqua blue crystals sat far from each other, one at the top and the other near the bottom, with a sea of small, sparkling emeralds that shone like the most precious jade. The cover had no title nor any place that referenced an author of any sort.
Staring down at the little book that was only a bit bigger then her hands Theia immediately fell in love and kept the book close to her developing chest as she faced her new servant.
"Where did this come from? Did you bring it for me? It's such a pretty book!" Even though she felt an attachment towards the book she still wanted to question its origins even with the nagging feeling in her head telling her not to question things too deeply.
"No madam, I have nothing to do with the origins of that book, however I thought it was of your belonging so I did not dare touch it much less look through it." Hearing his words Theia became intrigued once again so she decided to open the book. Even though she couldn't read the universal tongue yet she thought that she would at least be able to pick enough bits and pieces to figure out what the book was about.
Well at least that is what she thought at first, but who knew that when she opened it she would find a detailed summary clearly and accurately explaining everything about her body as of right now, hell it even had section that averaged out her current health condition into something called HP. The reason she knew that this had to do with her health was because on the page just next to all of this information there was clear explanations on what everything meant.

"Questions for another time I suppose" She said in a huff and shut the book rather forcefully.
"First things first.... I need to get out of this forest...."
