Selene
My eyes opened and I found myself curled up on Azriel's chest. His arms loosely wrapped around me.
I shifted slightly, feeling the weight of his arm around me and the warmth of his body. The memories of the night before came rushing back, and I couldn't help but smile at the closeness we shared. However with the good flashbacks, the bad ones came too. Him killing me, and my grandmother. But those were just nightmares, and although, I was still shaken up by it, I knew it wasn't connected to anything. Because I trusted Azriel.
I took a deep breath, trying to shake off the remnants of the unsettling dreams. I could feel Azriel's steady heartbeat beneath my ear, and it was a comforting rhythm that helped ground me in the present. The warmth of his body and the gentle rise and fall of his chest were reassuring reminders that I was safe.
