Dark Magic is shunned and looked down upon, and Mako was sent to the under prisons in solidarity, and has been there for 18 years, but the King made a sudden move in pardoning him. Will Mako use his powers for the good of Tests? Or use his powers to overthrow the nation and normalize the use of Dark Magic?

Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 - Solidarity

My name is Mako. I was split from my parents upon birth, and have been shunned for 18 years due to the magic I was born with. As you may expect, I now have an extreme hate for the land, if you could call it that. My only want now is to get out of here to just see the king suffer. Under my own hands....of course.

However, time shall tell. My 18 years proves that, the mental struggle and the inability to read. I only learned to speak through the fellow prisoners I met here. You see, when around other shunned, we become similar to a wolf pack. Always looking out for each other considering we all know that our situation at hand was the reason we've lost a portion of our humanity.

I'd have friends who also know the ways of dark. One of them being Kono. One of the few here that I genuinely respect.

* A Day Earlier.... *

"Get your nose out of that book already..." says Kono.

"Gotta study whenever I can."

"Sure, but there's no chance any of us get out of this hell anyway for that study to be used."

"You never know...." you say, scratching your head.

"I DO know. I've been in here a whole lot longer than you, Mako."

"I'm rather aware."

"Then just stop trying. Even if you do somehow get out, you're still going to be shunned.'

"Again, I'm aware. But there's still a chance I will get out, you'll see."

"Whatever you say, Mako." says Kono, walking away.

* Present Day *

You run your hands along your overly long black hair while sitting on your cot. Your cell is rather boring. There's a small desk across from your bed, and a sink and bucket between the two on the northern side of the cell. There's a small window up high above the sink to let a shed of sunlight in. You can guess why they designed it that way.

You can't use your magic here as they wrap a nullifying band around your neck to make sure you don't do any damage to the guards or room. Outside of that, you've built a bit of muscle over the years, and your height of roughly 5'11 extrapolates that. You're still rather skinny however, so you see yourself as lean, rather than built. Only reason you're skinny, really, is because these guards only feed you scraps. Think of banana peels and other general scraps with no nutrition.

A guard knocks on your cell with his baton saying, "Finally got your lucky break. The King pardoned you."

You give him a weird look and say "That must be a lie."

"No. Now get out."

You shrug and walk out of the cell. I suppose the King makes mistakes rather often. Two guards escort you to the prison entrance and unshackle the nullifying band. The outside is cold. Extremely cold. There's even snow on the ground.

A van drives up to the prison doors, and the back opens.

"Off you go." says a guard with a glare.

You send back a grin and step into the van. It's a bumpy drive to the nearest village, but you make it. The van stops at the entrance of the village, and you're supplied a black cloak and some old pants.

"Get out of my van already." says the driver.

You do so, and get met with a warmer climate. The sun is out, and there's a few clouds in the sky. The village looks to be a general farming town by the sheer amount of fields of corn and produce. You turn around and see it reads the name of the village.
