Only this girl could be a shock to her, all her fusses sprinkled down. Why was she this panic? Why would have she killed her pride to beg? It was readable how hard it was for her to bow for someone.
"You disgraceful maid! How dare you enter like this?" courtier Tan Gui shouted, and even the princess jolted.
"Leave us alone." Her eyes rolled on Fu Liu and Chaoxiang, then her father's man.
The courtier shook his head, leaving angrily after the men.
The princess smoothly approached her, grabbing her arms, she made her up.
'This is weird that a girl like you can make my heart beat.' She couldn't deny that this girl had found a place in her heart in such a short time, it wasn't just her ruthlessness or bizarre language that attracted her, her aura injected this affection into the princess's heart.
Standing up, Li Shu rolled her red eyes at her, when two cold hands touched hers, and gently opened her fists. Her eyes widened, why was she this cold? There was not even a single tinge of physical illness in her, she didn't even look weak but it seemed mentally she was utterly drained.
"Your highness, is something that's been hurting you?"
The princess held her hand and made her sit on the cushion beside her. Her eyes were on the bracelet.
"Yesterday, I thought it is amusing to keep you around me, despite your odd behavior, you are amazingly cautious and bright. If I take you with me, hardly your can be free to wild around, my enemies will be a menace to you that you can't even sleep in peace. I can't accept you."
She was warning her, to see how stable and persistent she could be in her passion.
Li Shu kept her head down, the touch of her hand had drowned her in a daze, why was it like this? The bracelet's magic had no control over her desires and her emotions. She could even sense the blood boiling throughout her body.
Her brain couldn't endure the situation when she heard the last statement of the princess. She wanted this bracelet, enough to say that she trusted them blindly.
"If the moon loses its brightness and the stars fall off the sky, I am not going to change my mind."
'You have no idea how I lived among wraiths; how many blades were sharpened to cut my head off when I slept; how did my own mother torture me to reach her goal and make me the next king. I had embraced death so many times that you call them nightmares in reality.'
To her surprise, the princess calmly grabbed her chin and led her head up.
No, Li Shu shouldn't do this, she couldn't look into the princess's eyes that were as if a mirror, reflecting her other face, it was the face of prince Wu Xiuying, yes, his true face. It was not in her dish to let the princess discover her secret.
"Are you confident? You might go under heavy education; I might have to lash you if you make mistakes or disrespect others. Can you have control over your tongue?"
Li Shu closed her eyes, "Yes, I will do everything you wish."
The princess stood up and smiled, at least with this girl many things could become a bit more colorful and interesting. It was outstanding to see how would she encounter the capital and the circumstances on the way.
"Go bring your stuff, tell your brother to bring a wagon for you, I know about your illness."
Li Shu couldn't be amazed that she had investigated her. Hopefully, the whole village believed Chaoxiang's story. They were thinking that Li Shu was a beast.
The girl nodded and walked to the door when the princess called her name, "Li Shu, didn't you forget something?"
The girl titled her head, and sharpened her eyes, "Excuse me, your highness, I didn't get what is the matter."
"Shouldn't you at least thank me?"
Xing Huan wore a sneer, waiting for her to face her first task. The girl wasn't a dimwit, as she guessed, she hated to serve a master.
"I appreciate your kindness, your majesty." Bowing to the princess, she sneaked out.
"You will disappoint me, I'm confident but as long as you don't betray me, my blade wouldn't drink your blood, little eagle."
Chaoxiang rushed to his sister and behind him was the eunuch. The courtier was over there; darting and murdering her with glares but as soon as a guard beside him whispered something in his ear, the man's expression transformed quickly, and nodded satisfyingly.
"I am now her maiden."
Li Shu told her brother.
"Daily maiden, of course! make sure to be careful when you speak in front of ladyship, she is a tough woman."
Passing by them, Fu Liu smirked, things just ran the way his princess wished. Anyway, it was a pity to let such a girl be wasted here. She was skillful and bright; the manners could be taught. Besides, he felt so good when she was around the princess. Without having any obligation, she tended to protect her and bare her blade on another royal. It called loyalty toward her words.
Getting back home, Li Shu rushed to her room and wrapped what was vital to her. Chaoxiang did the same and they both came out of the room.
"Are you escaping?"
Aunt Gu Ju asked, sourly.
"Should we explain?" Roughly answering her, Li Shu stopped. Peeking at her over her shoulder, she saw the woman flinching and slipping one step back.
"No, I just wanted to make sure you say farewell." She gritted her jaw continuing her thought, 'Now that you are leaving damn to hell, be at least a bit gentle.'
Chaoxiang knew what was running in her head so he walked forward and took out one silver coin.
"Don't waste your life aunt Gu Ju, stop poking your nose around and get a life."
He advised her and left after his sister.
"Huh, I am sure they had found the bracelet and received a huge prize. He was never this generous."
Shaking her head, she sighed and bit the coin.
