Chapter 16 - Chapter 16 - Heading to the East

Isaac read all the symptoms that were written on the paper. After 2 minutes, Isaac put down the paper and looked at Allisa with a serious face, making Levis even more nervous.

"Well, you have Crumbling Chills." Levis, Aleesia, and Allisa all three looked at Isaac with confused faces.

"What is Crumbling Chills?" Levis scratched his hair and asked with a confused look.

.

"Crumbling Chills: - chest pain and feeling light-headed often start of nowhere within a few days, but both symptoms are always experienced at some time. After the initial onset, chest pain usually loses how frequently it's experienced. Around this time chills are experienced in all cases so far. Patients may experience chills that may be less severe in combination with the experience of feeling light-headed." Isaac stated these words like he was reading a textbook which was kind of funny but no one laughed at his words considering the current situation.

.

Allisa knew that everything Isaac just said now was true since she had been experiencing these symptoms for a while now.

"What should I do now?" Allisa weakly asked.

"Crumbling Chills are caused by Breathing contaminated air, often in combination with a weaker immune system. Lack of sleep, and nutrition makes things even worse." Levis lowered his head hearing Isaac's words. Levis and his sister have worked as slaves for almost 15 years now. Levis didn't have the privilege to buy nutritious food.

.

Even their living condition wasn't that better. The place where Levis and his sister worked for 15 hours a day was very dirty and the air was contaminated. Unlike Levis, his sister didn't have a strong immune system as a result she was affected by the Crumbling Chills.

"What do we have to do to cure my sister." Levis sounded really desperate. Meanwhile, Aleesia silently observed Isaac's expression.

.

Only slaves and peasants usually got this kind of disease. Mostly because of their unhygienic living condition. No noble or rich merchant would be kind enough to provide slaves a clean and proper living place so every year thousands of slaves died mainly due to their unhygienic lifestyle.

"Normally, we can just cheap pills from Alchemist shops which would be enough to cure the diseases in 2 to 4 days. But I doubt there is an alchemist shop in the slum area. What's even worse is that, in our current condition, we cannot go beyond the second walls."

.

It was Isaac and others fortunate that they lived in the slum area. If Isaac was beyond the second wall when the apocalypse started, then he might have to face stronger zombie opponents. Since most of the residents living beyond that wall were cultivators. Just imagining fighting a horde of zombies who previously were cultivators and still retain their original powers as cultivators send chills down Isaac's spine.

.

Unless Isaac's level was near 50 or above, Isaac has no plan of going beyond those walls. Currently staying in the slum area might be the safest place for everyone.

"Does that mean, I should do nothing while my sister suffers?" Levis felt most frustrated among everyone. Isaac understood Levis's concerns. Isaac would have done the same if anything happened to his little sister.

Remembering his little sister, Isaac's eyes turned cold as dead fish. Isaac remembered the faces of those people who took everything away from him.

.

"There might be some hope. According to what, Xavion is implying, Greadsorn might lead the army and come to rescue the people stuck in the slum area." While speaking Isaac noticed that Aleesia's expression turned colder and she was tightly clenching her fists. "But why would he do that? Aleesia then looked at Isaac's eyes.

"I mean why he would care for people with no power at all. Even if he manages to stabilize the situation and bring order back to the city, then I am sure all the people from the slums with no power will be forced to work as slaves."

.

"Is there no other way?" Levis gritted his teeth in anger. Levis and his sister just broke free and gained their freedom. Levis was not willing to lose his freedom. To Levis and his sister, their freedom mattered more than anything.

"I do have an alternative option." Isaac looked at Aleesia with a grin on his face.

.

Isaac ignored Levis and his sister and looked at Aleesia. "Let's face it, we both have seen how loyal Xavion is to Greadsorn. While other people in Xavion's place wouldn't hesitate to rebel against their lord and start their own faction, Xavion didn't do it. Even if the world has changed, Xavion is still the loyal dog of your father." Aleesia glared at Isaac as if telling him that to not address that man was her father. While Levis and Allisa looked shocked learning that Aleesia was actually the daughter of the Greadsorn noble house.

.

"I know you hate your father and want to kill him." Seeing how Aleesia reacted whenever Greadsorn's name was mentioned, one didn't have to be a genius to understand that Aleesia really hated her biological father.

"I also don't like to work for anyone. My ambition and my goals won't allow me to work for anyone. So here is my proposal, work with me, help me to overthrow Xavion. I have a feeling that sooner or later, we will have to fight Xavion."

.

"After we kill Xavion, then what? How do you plan on escaping from that man?" Isaac couldn't help but smile. Aleesia asking this question confirmed that she was agreeing with Isaac's plan.

"Maybe one or three weeks at most, there is a chance that Greadsorn will use his military powers and somehow kill all the zombies. At that time, whether we like it or not, we will be placed under his control. But of course, there is a high chance that your father might have turned into a zombie but I doubt that would happen. People like him don't die this easily."

.

"If your father fails, then there will be high-level zombies who also like us can constantly level up. While it is impossible to kill Peak Gold rank zombies, those intelligent zombies can come after us. So eventually, we're left with one option and that is to leave this city and somewhere else." Levis and his sister, Allisa immediately agreed with Isaac and felt leaving this city would be their best course of action.

.

Aleesia was the only one who frowned. "Even if we leave this city, where we will go? I am sure with the arrival of the evolution system, the whole world is in chaos. Even if we head to another city, I am sure that city's condition won't be anything better than Eastfox city." Isaac naturally has thought about this point.

"Even though I hate to admit it, the outside world is not safe either. Aside from zombies, all types of animals, demonic beasts, and the monster has evolved with the starting of the apocalypse world. Before I came to this city, I had to fight a newly evolved moon Eagle."

.

At this point, even Aleesia with all her knowledge couldn't find any options. Aleesia sighed and just straight asked. "What is your plan?"

"Located at the eastern part of Aetas kingdom, Coastal Desert is a region that has no more than 1 million population despite its vast territory. Since there are no forests or vegetation in the desert region, there is no danger of monsters and demonic beasts." Aleesia naturally has heard about the Coastal Desert region.

.

"Isaac you must not forget that the Coastal desert region is almost 7,000 km away from Eastfox city. Now that teleportation orbs have stopped working, it is impossible to travel a 7,000 km distance with the countless dangers lurking in this apocalypse world. In our way, we will face countless dangers, with our strength it would be impossible to fight every danger."

.

"Aleesia, it's better to take risks than have regret. This is our only valid option." Aleesia still showed a hesitant look. It's not that Aleesia was afraid, it's just that Aleesia still needed some time to make a better decision.

"Give me some time." Saying that Aleesia no longer stayed in Levis's house.

.

"What about you two?" Isaac was sure that once Levis reaches level 30 or above, his strength would reach a monstrous height. Isaac valued Levis's talent and he wanted to have Levis by his side.

For now, Isaac purposely didn't expose his identity. Isaac still didn't anyone completely.

Levis and his sister exchanged glances and hesitated for a moment. Levis hesitated because his sister was weak and felt his sister wouldn't able to survive the journey. Allisa also hesitated as she felt she would be a burden to her brother.

.

Isaac as if understanding what was stopping Levis and his sister. "We can help your sister level up." Isaac suddenly had an idea after he said those words.

"Say, Levis, do you know how to butcher a chicken?" While not understanding why Isaac suddenly asked this question, Levis nodded his head.

"Come with me." Levis, Allisa, and Isaac then went to the kitchen.

.

Isaac then took out the moon eagle from his inventory. Seeing the dead body of the eagle, both Allisa and Levis waited for Isaac's explanation.

"I killed this eagle before. Before the apocalypse started, eating high-rank animals' meat gave cultivators a lot of benefits. I believe eating this evolved eagle meat will give us some benefits and possibly give some health-related buffs to your sister."
