"Father, I saw a dream.. .in the dream, everyone was dead and later on I died too."
"How did you die?"
"I killed myself"
"And why is that?" Yug asked he was so serious that Simon actually felt nervous.
"Because mom, used me and made me destroy the kingdom."
Yug inhaled sharply and clenched fists, his forehead was covered with sweat, "What happened after that?"
"After I died in my dream, I woke up and the headache started that day. I died in the temple of nirvana."
"Okay... what happened inside that room?"
And so Simon told how he found the book and opened it and then met Sean, or more like a fragment, and he was the one who told him what was the problem with his soul.
"Hm.." Yug said, that's the only thing he can say, so Simon's soul is too strong for his weak body.
And if his body is not made strong, he will... Yug closed his eyes and shook his head, refusing to think anything so bad.
He sighed, he never let Simon train or even taught him a sword till now because he is too young looks like that needs to change.
"Duke!"
Damian called him, "The food is ready, hurry up otherwise it will go cold."
Yug nodded, and he looked at Simon again before he held his hand and said with a serious face and in a firm voice filled with authority as well as concern, "Simon..."
Yug paused after that as if thinking of how to say, how to put his thoughts into words, "You are a very special person, very unique and different, you are the god's child."
Simon looked at him carefully and listened attentively, "And.. .you know you have powers that are very special and powerful as well, and I know that as a child you want to explore them you want to play with them and you can but you have to be careful.
You cannot tell about your blessing to anyone... you understand that? You cannot show what happened here to anyone, not unless you are old, old enough to take my place, and I would say even after you take my place, never show your true self to anyone."
Simon just listened to him, Yug had something like this in the past as well, but he, being the idiot bastard he was, ignored this advice and foolishly showed Aurelia everything.
Simon smiled and faintly nodded, "I understand."
Yug smiled, "I know, it will be hard Simon, you have to live a different life, different from the other children of your age, it will be tough, and there would be times when you would want to scream and tell everyone about yourself, but don't... never do that... because humans... are like greedy animals and they will use you they will take your powers away from you.
And that's something divine like your powers should be protected at all cost."
Simon smiled, "I understand father, I will always be careful about my strength and weakness."
Yug smiled, "Let's go and eat."
"So... since our work is done here is done, we should probably head back," Rune said.
"If we start now, we can reach the village by the evening," Damian said.
Yug nodded as he and his son ate their food quietly.
After they were done, they once again sat on their horses and started to head for the village.
And by the time they reached the village, it was late evening and Simon was already asleep, hugging the book very close to his chest as if it was the most treasured thing in the entire universe.
And Yug didn't bother to take the book away from him, he just gently tucked him onto the bed before sitting on the chair beside the bed and sighing. A lot had happened today.
He crossed his arms in front of his chest and closed his eyes, he felt a movement in the room, but he didn't care to open his eyes, the person who had come inside the room sat beside him and a deep sigh had escaped his mouth, "So?"
Rune said, but Yug didn't bother to say anything, "Your son is... someone from the legend? a legendary hero? reborn? Favored by..."
"Shut up!" Yug said and glared at him before he could say anything further and Rune did become quiet he wasn't looking at Yug. He was staring at his sleeping son.
Simon was sleeping so peacefully, with that hideous huge black book in his hands, without any care in the world, with no care about the dangers and not caring about the chaos that his mere existence can cause.
If what Rune was thinking was true, then Simon's existence is both a curse and a blessing, but considering the people that surround them and the greed that these people have Simon's blessing can cause a war, a huge war that can cause mass destruction.
No wonder Yug keeps his son in that palace made of the gold house and rarely lets him out, Rune sighed, "Your son is really special."
"I know."
Rune didn't say anything after that. He just got up, "I am going out."
"You are not going to rest?"
"I can't. Not when there is so much going on in my head, Have a good night, duke." Rune said and left while Yug just looked in his direction till he was out of sight.
After he was gone, Yug sighed, Rune is not a fool. He is one of the smartest people in the empire, he must have already known about Simon.
Yug closed his eyes again and sighed, he trusts Rune... but somewhere in his heart a tiny seed of doubt is always there, Rune is a human too, and humans are greedy and they can change.
While he was thinking all this, he suddenly heard a commotion outside, he hurriedly stood up, he went near the door to see what was wrong, but suddenly the windows burst open and a few people came in.
And the first thing Yug saw was the red cloth they had tied around their waist, with a sun sign, bandits!
There were four men, and Simon also woke up with sudden commotion, the men tried to grab him but before they could even touch him Yug threw his dagger at one and the dagger went straight through his heart and then he threw a vase that was kept near the door at the second person, the heavy vase collided with his head.
Simon was already out of the bed, "SIMON RUN!"
Yug said and Simon didn't need to be told twice he ran towards his father and stood beside him the remaining two bandits, came towards him with their swords, and Yug glared at them he raised his hand and the dagger that was in the chest of the first bandits came in his hand and Yug swung it towards the bandits.
"MERIDIA." He said, and the dagger turned to a sword, that collided with the other two swords, the two bandits' eyes had widened because Yug had a celestial weapon meaning he was no ordinary merchant he was noble!
But it was too late. These bastards shouldn't have tried to attack his son. These guys have invited death, Yug shoved them back, "Close your eyes, Simon." He said and Simon did while he, with one swift move, beheaded them.
"Keep your eyes close, son," Yug said as he picked Simon in his hand and went outside, today these bandits are going to die.
Yug was pissed he was damn pissed and as he went out, he saw Damian fighting the bandits the villagers were not there probably ran away, but till now Yug had not found and villagers' bodies and that was a good sign, but the dead bodies of bandits were indeed there.
These bandits never allowed themselves to get captured. Whenever they were close to getting captured they would always kill themselves.
Simon was hugging him close as he looked at the dead bodies of the bandits. But there was a coldness in his eyes. He would be scared and confused if he had no idea about working of this bloody cult.
But not anymore, he was eyeing them when his eyes fell on the other bandit that looked like the leader of this group, Simon glared at him his book was still in his hand close to his chest as he glared at that man, the man had also looked at him with a glare maybe wanting to scare him but Simon was not someone who gets scared so easily.
The man picked up his sword and came towards Yug, his eyes held rage and his sword was raised to behead Simon was daring to challenge him, the man raised his sword and was about to swing at Yug and Simon but before he could reach he was beheaded and as his body fell on the ground Rune was standing there covered in blood.
The bandits retreated, leaving the scene, and once they were gone, the three stood there on the road lit by the moonlight.
The villagers came out one by one and looked at the three as if they were gods, "you all are safe for now." Yug said.
Damian was beside him as well, while Rune slowly stepped back, vanishing in the dark, his injury had worsened and the medicine was finished he took the painkiller but after taking painkillers he had to rest because his body gets tired but the bandits attacked hence he had to fight the painkiller and that resulted in a huge strain on his body.
His pain worsened, his head was spinning and he puke as soon as he came to a secluded space with no human in the line of sight, and that place was behind a house.
He held his head, which was about to burst because of the excruciating pain that he felt. He slowly leaned against the wall before slowly sitting on the ground, staring at the moon.
Everything hurts.
