Chereads / Lilya - The Pawned Princess / Chapter 3 - Chapter - 02

Chapter 3 - Chapter - 02

TRAP has been successfully spread, all Atmawijaya families must be careful in their treads, especially they are dealing directly with a Lionel Ervan Gunawan, who now holds the power of the two big families of Gunawan and Tjandra.

Christian Andromeda smiled sweetly as he looked at the young girl named Lilya who sat down in fear and bowed her head. The girl looked up from time to time, staring at him, but she lowered her head again, as soon as Chris met her gaze.

A timid and shy girl, he thought.

"Chris, which one will be my daughter-in-law?" The old man with the distended stomach and lecherous gaze looked at Kenanga and Lilya in turn.

Kenanga looked like she was holding back her vomit, but she quickly turned to look at Chris who was indeed the most pleasing to the eye.

Kaisar cleared his throat. "The last daughter of our family, sir. Her name is Lilya, she is still eighteen years old now."

The man hired by Evan then looked at Lilya from top to bottom. Sexy, beautiful, still young, her drool was almost dripping and it made Lilya's body tremble violently.

What did she do wrong? What sin has she committed?

Why did she have to marry this man's son? With parents like this, what will their son look like?

God?!

Lilya wanted to cry now.

Could it be, if her husband is bored, she will be made a concubine by this perverted father-in-law?

Chris cleared his throat softly. "Why not the eldest in your family? I believe Lilya should still be in school at her age."

Kaisar looked at Kenanga who jumped on her seat. She shook her head frantically at her father, who closed his eyes, then took a shaky breath.

"She already has a boyfriend, I also don't want to force her choice. Lilya also put herself forward, do I have the right to hinder my daughters' intentions?"

Chris couldn't comment anymore, seeing from Lilya's frightened attitude, he thought the girl had been threatened by her own family.

"Did you really put yourself forward?" Chris stared at the girl intently, hoping that Lilya would reveal the secret to him, but the girl just nodded her head.

"Yes, I volunteered myself." Lilya closed her eyes and began to convince herself.

For her family. For the sake of the father and mother who raised her. She was willing to be the wife of the son of this perverted old man in front of her.

She carved that smile when she looked at Chris who was silent without being able to say much. Chris cleared his throat, then turned his face towards Kenanga.

"My master asked to have the wedding a week later—"

"But, Lilya is still in school, isn't it too rushed?" reject Kaisar quickly.

"No, your company needs funds urgently. It was also a private wedding that only extended families would attend. So you can rest easy, even though Lilya is married, she can still go to school." Chris looked at Lilya who nodded at him. "You don't mind, do you?"

Lily shook her head. "As long as your master is willing to help my family as soon as possible, I don't mind at all. Even if I had to drop out of school, I would gladly accept it."

"Alright then, everything has been decided." Chris stared intently at the old man Evan had hired.

The old man cleared his throat. "You're getting married next week, as for the place and stuff, everything will be told to you in stages."

Evan listened to the contents of the conversation with his eyes closed. He imagined the girl saying everything well, whatever expression he could picture clearly.

She's a good girl, he thought.

"Sir?"

"Hm."

"Are you sure you're going to have this wedding next week?" asked Chris in disbelief, remembering that Evan had just had a fight with his cousin and now his face was covered in quite a number of bruises.

"Why? Are you doubting my decision?"

Chris shook his head. "No, sir."

"Just get everything ready, Chris, it's all set, no more reason to back off."

"Yes sir."

That's right, there's no reason to back down.

Evan took this opportunity so he could get married, get a wife who might take care of him until he got older. However, he also doesn't know whether his wife will be able to take care of him or not, because she is still a student. The girl who shouldn't have married at such a young age.

Chris left his room following a woman who had now entered his room. "Brother, you're really getting married, aren't you?"

"Hm, why, are you jealous?"

The woman was annoyed. "It's not like that, but it's just… weird. I mean, you're going to marry a kid."

Evan snorted. "She's not a kid anymore, Syil."

"Still. Come on, ten years from now when you two go out together, you'll see, she will look like your daughter instead your wife."

Evan snorted. "Then, would you rather see me marry your mother?"

Syila glared sharply. "Brother... still like Mom?"

Evan smiled faintly. "I am."

"But my Dad said you loved my Mom when you were five, right?"

"So, where's the problem? Your mother isn't getting old either, Syila." Evan smiled faintly. "So, before your dad gets angry, I'd better marry someone else, right?"

"Whatever, bro, whatever!" shouted Syila who gave up and left Evan alone.

He only hoped that Lilya could be his partner. Someone who can understand him inside and out. Someone ... who might be able to accompany him until his death comes.

The wedding invitation arrived at the Atmawijaya family's house. Kenanga who first got it immediately threw the invitation paper at Lilya.

"Pay close attention to the date and get ready to marry that perverted old man."

Lily just looked down. She was sincere, she was willing to marry that person for the sake of this small family. For them to be happy, she is okay.

"Honestly, Li, I really feel sorry for your life. You're just an adopted child, being a maid, then marrying a fat old man like a clown." Kenanga snorted. "Have you ever thought about living a happy life just once?"

Lily was silent. A glimmer of desire to be happy by marrying the person she loves, of course, exists. However, Lilya tried to forget it.

For the sake of the father and mother who raised him.

A courier came and brought a box wrapped in a pretty ribbon. "To Miss Lilya," he said.

Lilya accepted it and opened the contents. A wedding dress that looks luxurious and beautiful, is very visible if the dress is specially ordered for her.

However, how can that be? Didn't they just met Lilya yesterday? How can this dress be ready in two days?

"Beautiful," Kenanga muttered, "the dress."

Lilya smiled. Who made this dress must be a person who has a lot of power and money. He must be very rich. Ignore the shape and form of the person who gave it.

Lilya started to think, can only money make a person happy?
