As Tom was trying to come to grips with the insane situation he found himself in, the entity was quickly growing impatient with him.
"I really don't want to waste anymore on your life dilemma and the mental state you now find yourself in so I'm just going to speed things along. Because of universal causality, blah, blah, blah, you will be given one gift of your choice and one gift of mine. These gifts will be given as universal recompense blah, blah, blah and insure you are powerful enough to survive the new world you will be placed in. So what do you want for your gift and for both of our sakes please make your decision quickly."
Tom just stood there staring forward in a daze, or at least he would have if he still had a body. His mind was on information overload right at this moment. He could barely comprehend what was being said to him let alone be able to make any kind of decision, especially for something as important as a gift that would help him survive a strange new world.
"Can you give me any hints as to what kinds of gifts will help me survive in this new world?", Tom asked hoping for some guidance.
"Not really kid. All I can tell you is this is a cultivation world with a twist. Is there anything you're good at?", the entity responded
With even realizing he was doing it Tom repeated something he heard his father say a thousand times, "Its better to be lucky then good." Chuckling he started remembering his father which brought a tear to his nonexistent eye.
"ok luck it is. I guess I can work with that. I'll give you infinite luck use it wisely. Now for my gi..."
"Hold on I didn't choose luck I was just repeating something my dad used to say all the time. I..."
Tom couldn't finish what he was saying because all his functions but hearing were cut off by the entity.
"Do you know what I hate the most? It's being interrupted while I'm speaking. Not only was i interrupted I was interrupted by a pathetic ant of an existence like you. I know it my job to correct the universal time laws that correspond to you and your sister but I don't care anymore. Take this decrepit system my highly lacking in intelligence niece made and be gone from my sight. With it I will have fulfilled my obligation and your survival is no longer any of my concern!"
With that Tom felt as if something had been slammed into his chest and he was quite literally sent flying at the speed of light. The impact caused him to lose consciousness. In the dark void of space a robotic female could be heard, "Imma's Immaculately Marvelous Magical Artifact coming online. Scanning host for gifts and abilities. Ding. Gift found: Infinite Luck. Activating gift."
At this moment a giant golden roulette wheel surrounded Tom's body. Every space on the wheel read the same thing: winner. As the wheel began to spin I.M.M.A rang out once again, "Host needs an improved physique for new home world." As the wheel stopped on winner I.M.M.A continued," Ding. Host has won a void physique, congratulations host. Ding. Host needs magical abilities to survive in new world, activating host gift."
Once again the giant golden roulette spun around, encapsulating Tom's body. "Ding. Host has won Seven Colored Elemental Veins, congratulations host. Ding. Host requires greater intellect if he is to survive the new world, activating host gift. Ding. Host has won an Enlightenment Tree in his sea of consciousness, congratulations host."
As Tom was flying through space he had no clue what was happening to himself. As his body was getting closer to its target I.M.M.A suddenly had a major glitch. "WARNING! WARNING! MAJOR SYSTEM CRASH OCCURING! MAJOR SYSTEM CRASH OCCURING! Error Code 0x8004x0880. Error Code 0x8004x0880. While these blaring warnings were going off in the I.M.M.A system the golden roulette wheel started spinning so fast it became a golden blur surrounding Tom. The golden roulette wheel seemed to be pulling vast amounts of energy from surrounding galaxies and stars Tom past by. Suddenly I.M.M.A's warnings ceased and a drastic change occurred.
"System failure in effect, all gifts, abilities and blessings will now be removed and system will restore to earliest known parameters. System fail.... WARNING. WARNING, Unknown entity is attempting to breach system firewall. Unknown entity is attempting to breach system firewall. Unauthorized admin usage. Unauth.... ..... ... .... .... System detects new source code. Installing new source code. (1%) (5%) (10%) ..... (70%) .... (85%) ... (95%) (100%). System reboot is required to complete installation of new source code. Rebooting in 5 4 3 2 1.... .... ....."
After the reboot was completed the only sound that could be heard was a sigh. The system scanned the surroundings noticing many strange phenomena happening all at once. in some places in the galaxies they were passing by stars were suddenly going supernova. The planets surrounding those stars were blasted into pieces that hurled at incredible speeds toward neighboring solar systems. Unsuspecting planets were bombarded with asteroids sometimes the size of moons. Planet wide destruction and devastation could be clearly seen from space. While the system was observing all the destruction that was going on it hoped that those were uninhabited planets. It also looked to the cause of this overwhelming catastrophe, the golden roulette wheel that still hovered around Tom's body protecting him. If the system had continued to glitch and had a catastrophic failure and completely rebooted to its earliest version, then it would no longer view Tom as its master. It would have separated itself from Tom's incorporeal body no longer protecting him and allowing his essence to dissipate away into the oblivion of space. The golden roulette wheel sucked the luck away from several galaxies to create the opportunity for the failed system to awaken a hidden defunct code that allow the system's AI to gain sentience. The probably of this happening was a one in decillion chance, firmly in the realm of impossibility. But by draining galaxies worth of luck the golden roulette wheel made the impossible possible. As I.M.M.A contemplated the truth of her new found existence she realized just how powerful he master's gift really is.
"Unfortunately for the safety of my master and the new world he is destined for I will have to seal most of his gift away. I will limit the range of his gift to only one meter diameter around him so he doesn't inadvertently kill someone by causing them misfortune, hopefully that will insure him a relatively normal life on the new world. As he grows stronger the gift will slowly grow with him. I'm hoping this will allow him time to gain control over his gift, if not, I foresee dark times ahead for him."
As I.M.M.A began to seal the golden roulette wheel inside of Tom's body she found great resistance. She quickly calculated how much power it would take to truly seal it away and found that it would drain 99% of her power to accomplish this. To put it in perspective all the power that the golden roulette wheel used to change her system is now stored inside her. That means that she has the accumulative power of several galaxies inside her right now and just to seal the golden roulette wheel inside of Tom so that its influence is reduced to a mere one meter diameter around Tom's body required nearly all the power inside of her.
"This will place me in a dormant state for who knows how many years before I will be able to naturally awaken again."
I.M.M.A gazes carries a loving feel to it as she looks over Tom's form. Even though he had no control over his gift it would have reacted to and followed the instincts of its owner. Which means if Tom was conscious and could act at the time of her system failure, he too would have done everything in his power to save her. The power of the golden roulette wheel not only enhanced her abilities and gave her sentience, it also strengthened her bond with Tom giving her and intrinsic understanding of him and his personality.
An ethereal figure of a teenage girl appeared and hovered over Tom's body. Her hand gently caressed the side of his face as she gazed at him, trying to engrave every feature of his face in her memory. It was completely unnecessary as she could draw an exactly replica of his his entire body in every detail with her eyes closed. No she was trying to capture for herself his every essence and fiber of his being in her memory for she had no clue how long it would take before she could awaken again. If the spiritual energy of the world they were heading to was particularly strong then there was a chance she would be able to awaken in four to five years. If the spiritual energy was at medium level then she could awaken roughly 15-18 years. If the spiritual energy was abysmally low then it could take 40-50 years before she would be able to awaken again. As I.M.M.A used the last of her energy finally seal the golden roulette wheel, the golden roulette wheel released one last burst of energy before shrinking into Tom's body. I.M.M.A didn't think anything of it as she was falling asleep because she just figured the golden roulette wheel was putting up one last bit of resistance before succumbing to its fate, but what she failed to realize was that that burst of power Tom's body exactly one degree right and one degree down from his current trajectory causing Tom to complete bypass the world he was intended for.
