"Okay, okay, it's happening! Everybody stay calm! Stay calm!" Greg shouted, his voice laced with a hint of panic. But my panic was far more profound, considering I was the one tasked with driving this vehicle, and my limited experience behind the wheel made me fear that I'd crash into the nearest lamppost out of sheer terror.
The muscle cars pursuing us displayed an unexpected nimbleness. I knew they were notoriously challenging to control, being heavy vehicles, but their deft maneuvering through the traffic sent shivers down my spine.
I did my best to maintain a safe distance between us and them, but they seemed determined not to allow that to happen.
As we reentered the city, the difficulty level of our escape increased significantly. We encountered a red light at an intersection, one that I had no choice but to obey. I fervently hoped that our pursuers would do the same.
