Brie shrugged. "I don't know. I'm not too sure. Life's been fun though. It was nice coming back to my agency. Being protected, back where I belonged."
"Then are you here then?" I asked. "You could've stayed."
"You're right," Brie said with a chuckle. "You're definitely right. But you know—someone was in danger and I felt provoked to help them." She sat up on her bed, moving her neck sideways.
"That person must be important to you, huh," I said with a little grin. She gave me an unamused look. "Maybe," she said. I glanced at Greg who looked at me back with no input to share. I turned back. "Do you even know that you're talking to that person you want to help?"
"I'm certainly aware of that," Brie said. "I felt provoked to help. Be grateful."
"I never said I wasn't grateful, I'm just confused."
"That I came to help you?"
