It's troubling to fall asleep because my mind keeps drifting over to the massacre on the night of my 31st birthday. At first, his men disguised themselves as servants and tried to poison me, and if it wasn't for my little wife, Mathilda, bless her soul, I'd have been six feet down.
My head immediately snaps to the door when my wolf discerns the presence of someone.
I'm wondering who it is by this time when the door suddenly jerks open and in comes the said person who I just thought about.
"Oh my, I had no idea you were awake. I wanted to come snuggle with you." Mathilda closes the door shut and rests her back behind it.
"Having trouble falling asleep?" Despite it being dark with the lights off, I uplift a brow, not even caring if she'll see it or not.
"No...I uh...I want to be next to you." She blurts out, fidgeting with her hands.
