Mathilda
The sound of Alec Benjamin's 'Let Me Down Slowly', is blaring from the speakers that I can make out the lyrics of the song.
Now, I know it's the reality of the hard, ugly truth, but I'm still trying to hold myself together because I'll be rejecting Brandon Kincaid at the Blackwood council hall tomorrow. A wave of pain washes over me when my mind takes me down the memory lane of happy moments.
I shift my gaze from the window to the bodyguard driving me just as the unruffled voice of Alec Benjamin sings '-a little sympathy I hope you can show me', making my stomach churn as a picture of a hardened face Cahill flashes through my mind instead of Brandon that I am thinking about.
"Can you turn off that song?" I quietly make this inquiry when she starts nodding to the music.
"Yes, Luna. Sorry if it made you feel a tingling of discomfort." She apologizes, long manicured fingers reaching to turn the music off.
