Mathilda
My eyes move to my elder sister who's still over the floor, her hair tousled on top of her head, dress wrinkled. There's a big patch of blood on her pale neck. Where Cahill had strangled her.
It was just too much for me to handle because as much as I hate to admit it, they were once lovers. When I saw the way he choked her, it made my stomach churn because never in my life did I imagine such to happen.
He did that not because she hurt him or he was still hurting over her running away with another man, he did that because of the things she said, made it seem like she had every right to stab me because I married Cahill in place of her.
Thankfully my mother and brothers weren't present, else it'd have been worse. They already see her differently over what she did at the dining, how she was swinging the knife because she wanted to stab me, and then accidentally struck it in Archibald's throat. Thankfully he's healing in a gradual process.
