Ju restarted the machine took out his card and inserted it again but still nothing.
The screen in front of him stayed the same and unchanging. He was in front of the machine for a long time unsure of how to react util someone called him out.
"Hey old man get out of the way already!"
"Security!"
Before Ju could notice, quite a long line had formed behind him. A war had been declared after all and everyone was scared and taking their money to go away from the border. Ju himself was also thinking of doing the same if he didn't find a decent house to buy.
But surprisingly enough his money had disappeared.
Before Ju could react a pair of man behind him got pissed and walked forth to throw Ju away.
They grabbed him by the arm and before he could react he was thrown away from the square.
He was on his knees but he felt nothing, he was completely numb and felt extremely confused.
'My money is gone? How? Why? Two hours ago? What happened two hour ago? I didn't forget any of my cards back on my grandparent's house...'
Ju was brainstorming inside his mind trying to find a solution but only realised another problem.
'...House...' A almost auditive click seemed to turn in his head.
"Am i homeless now...?!" He stared down trying to figure out what to do.
Ju was a very cold and calcularive guy. As long as he was used to the situation in matter that is.
He had never been near a situation of abandom and homelessness. This was new, unexpected, scary.
He didn't know what to do. Util he had an idea.
'Oh right! The auxiliary support!' He remembered the small tent attending people in the entrance to the city running from the villages by the countryside.
'They probably have something for me right?' Ju thought for some more time and decided on returning.
He walked back to the city entrance and sure thing the tent was still there. Unfortunately though, hundreds of people had arrived from other countryside towns and villages therefore the entire place was flooded with people.
Getting closer he heard someone screaming from a crowd.
"Queue number! Take your queue number right here!" The man was surrounded by a few thirty so people and he gave each of them a dirty look before pulling a piece of paper from a box by his waist and gave one to each of them.
Looking at that Ju found ridiculous how arrogant the man was acting.
He would constantly snort, lift his nose and keep pressing on people arounf him were "Looking at him wrong". He also always took a chance to hit on the more atractive woman on the crowd and saying he would give them a ticket first because "He was nice".
'You're not really that much different from them. You're simply in charge of giving these people a piece of paper yet you act so high and mighty! You sir, are too arrogant.' Ju was fairly amused but was dumbstruck when he found how the people on the other end were treating him.
"Thank you sir!" Said one very injured looking woman giving a smile missing a teeth.
The man gave this soman a dirty look but gave a queue number anyway. When she turned away he looked at her buttocks and his expression changed almost instantly.
"T-Thank you Mr..." A teenager girl said in a somber tone as she turned away from the crowd holding a baby on her arm and pulling a younger boy by the arm. Perhaps her siblings.
The man was weirdly entusiastic about giving the probably orfaned teenager a queue number and throughly apalping her with his eyes.
Ju was agape eating flyes.
"They're thanking him? This arrogant blimp?" Ju was speechless
"What is up aith your voice?" A voice suddenly called out from the side. Moving his head Ju saw the owner of the voice.
A old man wearing a straw hat mouth filled with yellow teeth. He had his tongue showing for some reason and Ju could see it was a disgusting dark red color and it seemed to be covered with blood.
His face seemed to have been bloated to the extreme possible and then sucked dry, it was flacid, full of wrinkles, covered with black and brown stains that seemed to rotten his skin.
He was wearing black clothes stained with something gray all over.
He seemed to be very shaky, weary and weak.
Studying the old man Ju politely talked to him with the most soothing voice he could muster.
'He looks so weak.'
"I'm sorry. Who are you?" Ju gently asked.
'How weird. Earlier this week i killed a few hundred living beings with a appearance much better than this man yet i feel nothing about it, now i can't even act cold towards a dying old man. Maybe something to do with my vessel?'
Ju wondered for a second and recalled how he had called the insects "inferior".
"Hm? Oh my are you not Youji?" The old man brought his tongue back into his mouth and replied.
"Who?" Ju was very confused.
'Is he perhaps a mental pacient?'
"Ohhh you're not her then." The old man turned to look at Ju.
"Yeah now that i look at it you're really not her. You're very tall young man! How weird i'm sure i felt her presence."
Hearing the old man a sence of nostalgia flowed into Ju's mind.
'"Young man" Heh. Who would have thougt someone would call me this after so long had passed.' Ju looked at the man and could see that his pupils were almost completely white and that he had some flap covering part of his eyes.
'He perhaps can't tell my appearance?'
'This old man must be pretty much blind... Wait, did he say presence?'
Ju felt an abnormality in the old man's speech
"Hey excuse me but did you say you felt who's pres-" Ju tried to dig further but he was cut off.
"Jiji!!" A little girl's voice suddenly rang out from between Ju and the old man.
'!?' Ju was stunned for a second.
'How come i didn't realise this girl was here?' He looked as the girl hugged the decript old man.
He looked at the wall and there was indeed nowhere to hide on it.
'Where did she come from!?'
The girl held the old man with great care and affection. Someone could think she was his grandchild but looking further this assumption had a tendency to be proven wrong.
Ju could feel a almost comedic contrast between the two looking as cosely as he was.
While the old man was decript and falling appart, his body face ugly and unerving, almost looked like a corpse.
The little girl was like a small flower. Her face was very round and chubby, she had curly short hair and her akin was as smooth as polished copper. While the old man seemed to have white skin that was slowly rottened to look darker the little girl was naturally light brown. She was wearing a very cute pink raincoat with dark pink tiger imprints all over it.
'This... He couldn't possibly have kidnapped this little girl could he...?' As weird as it might be the contrast was so great Ju couldn't help but reach this kind of conclusion.
Ju was very concerned how such a cutesy little flower could have ended with such a decript old man.
"Jiji! Ji~ji! J-i-j-i!" The little girl kept singing while hugging the old man tightly.
Ju felt extremely unconfortable seeing this.
'To have such a young girl forcing her face in such a thick layer of rotten skin is...'
Ju unconsciously reached the conclusion the girl had been kidnapped at an even younger age and raised to dote the old man for his entertainment.
'S-Such an evil and corrupted mind!' He could almost feel himself shake in fear.
"Youji? Ohh! It's you Youji! You did learn how to hide quite well didn't you?" Said the old man lifting a shaky hand with a smile in face.
Youji was very impatient seeing the old man's hand and quickly grabbed it. She brought the hand to the top of her head and waited for the old man to move his fingers. When he did she hugged him again and returned to screaming.
"Jiji! Jiji! Jiiijiiii!"
The scene was very cute but with Ju's unknown assumption he couldn't help but be disgusted.
'My god! What has this old man done for this little girl to have such dependance of him!?'
Ju glared in shock as Jiji and Youji had a wholesome interaction.
Jiji then brought his attention back to Ju who stood staring at him.
"Ohh sorry for the rudeness i must have forgotten to introduce myself."
The old man got up with difficulty and slightly curved his henched back.
"My name is Jonathan Petra, i go by Jon. This is Youji." The old man faced the little Youji and asked.
"Youji do you want to introduce yourself?"
Youji finally realising Ju was standing there she ran to her supposed grandfather and hid behind his leg.
"Ohhoho i see. Well you can just call her Youji, she doesn't like when i introduce her myself. Oh i have a western name by the way."
To the eyes of everyone who saw this situarion this was simply a cute grandaughter and a old grandfather introducing themselves politely to a stranger.
But in Ju's perspective he became even more perturbed by the whole situation.
Holding back his true feelings Ju instead politely introduced himself.
"It's Nice to meet you Jon. My name is Manny Ju. "Ju" is eastern and i really like it so if possible please call me by that."
He then turned to the little Youji.
"Hello little girl. Tell me if there is anything you need." What Ju actually wanted to say was. 'I will try to get you out of this situation.
After, Ju and the old man chatted while waiting for the crowd of people around the man giving out the queue tickets to die down.
But night came and it was even more crowded than previously.
After the sun had set and there was already no sign of sunlight in the sky Ju sighed in worry.
Sitting down he brought his hand into his balding head.
'I really have no idea where to stay...'
Ju actually felt it was comical. He was once a multimillionaire who very often had people looking up to him. Now however he had no money and nowhere to stay. He experienced both extremes society had to offer.
While thinking like this Ju geard the small Youji besides him speaking to her grandfather.
"Ji~ji. The sun went awaa~yy." She pulled the old man's sleeve.
"Oh i see." Jon got the help of a wall to get back on his feet with difficulty.
"Umm that is really not good is it young man? Say would you like to stay at our place for the time being?"
'?'
""Your" place?" Ju was suddenly confused.
"Yea." Shortly replied the decaying old man turning his back to Ju.
"You have a place?" Ju gave a fiece look of confusion.
"Of course we do." Jon was already a few steps away from Ju.
"Then why are you here!?"
"Hmmm." Jon stopped on his tracks and gave a pensative sound.
He turned back and answered.
"I was just thinking that maybe if everyone here was given a temporary house if there happened to have any more tickets left maybe we could move into a better place for a while." He said with a silly smile splattered on his face and putting his dirty tongue out which looked offputting.
"It can't be..." ju had chatted with Jon for an entire day. At first he thought the man as a mental and sickly man however as they chatted he grew to have some respect for him. However right now that respect was but gone. To Ju, Jon was now no more than a piece of trash.
Jon turned back and kept walking util eventually right as he was about to turn a corner he stopped again and turned back to ju.
"You coming or not?" The old man's flacid face held some kind of annoyingness to it.
'Of course i am.' Ju stood up and quickly catched up to the man.
He was in fact, also a piece of trash.
