"What is this place?" Raina voiced her confusion.
The open ground resembled the interior of a volcano. The green liquid between the cracks exploded occasionally, like a lava fountain.
"Thud!"
Following a critical sound, a figure fluttered past the group, possibly not of his own volition. After the figure crashed into the ceiling, Seth got a good look at him.
Seth's observant eyes angled toward the figure. 'Sure enough. It's him.'
'But… who got him to this state?'
Kayne's body looked absolutely battered. Blood seeped from the corner of his lips and his right arm limped around.
"Rhazien, look ahead!"
Raina's alarmed voice made Seth focus on the path forward. Just as his eyes darted around, his body tensed and he unknowingly took a step back.
About twenty feet in front of him was a grotesque ball of flesh and ball.
The red ball had no eyes, but they could find countless mouths belonging to various creatures on its body.
