I was running as fast as I could. It really was a lot easier getting away in my wolf form then anything else. Two legs were sometimes soo bothersome. I also felt soo free running on four legs. It was a completly different feeling. Just descirbing it doesn't even cut it. It was soo good, as if I was part of nature and something more.
The only thing that was bothering me, was the guilt I felt from losing my pack. Just not having a pack at all was pulling my consciousness towards going insane. However I survived and lived soo long with this feeling that it was already normal to me.
Still.... Sometimes I really wished there a pack, someone who was backing me up. I really wanted to have the security behind me. A group of wolfs that just got my back in whatever situation. It wasn't even the sense of security I got from it but also the sense of duty, I was feeling towards them.
I was an alpha after all.
The sense of protecting my pack and the people I love and cherrish was the biggest one I had. It was something normal but for a packless rough wolf like me, it was the biggest suffering out of all time.
'I should have lost them...'
'No way that pack is running after me!'
'Why should they do that anyways?'
As I was thinking that I slowed down from running soo fast and started to appreciate my surrounding. I was in the forrest and it was really beautiful and very well maintained from the wolf pack. I had to give them that. It really was a nice piece of land.
I ran a very far distance and was walking close to the boarder of the territory.
'I wonder why I didn't see any wolfs?'
'It can't be that they are letting me leave like that...'
'Nah!'
It was right at that moment that I heard howling coming from a very close distance. Just based off the sound of the howling I could tell that it was coming from a Beta. Question was why was I hearing only one and no others?
That was definitelly weird, I thought as I continued to walk my way to the boarder of the territory. I knew I had to get out of here asap. I didn't quite care about my stuff at all. The most important thing right now was to get the hell out of this place.
'Why is the pack not answering?'
'There is no way the pack is just so small...'
'From what I know this is one of the biggest packs in our society too!'
'Are they death?'
'Does this alpha not know how to lead a pack?'
'No... that isn't it!'
'Something is fishy here...'
I stipped walking for a bit before pearking my ears and just focus on my surrounding. Up until now, I never done that at all. I was to focused to run and evade everything to even realise that this forest was afully quiet. There was no sound of birds or the wind at all.
It looked lively and everything but the missing of any sounds made it seem eary all of the sudden.
'SHIT!'
I knew that, THAT could only mean one thing. The pack was on my trail and was intentionally let me run this far. There was no other logical explanation for this. It was either that or I just entered a forbidden and sick part of the forest which from the looks of it, wasn't the case at all.
While I was standing still, I could hear some sounds coming from a very nearby bush.
'Looks as if I am surrounded...'
'Whelp... nothing I can do now for that..'
'I had to run blindly after all...'
Me: ARRROOOOOO!!!!!
After some thinking, I decided to howl at the sky. It was something you do to only tell the other wolfs your position and since I knew they were trailing me and one of them was defintielly just a couple of meters away, there was no need to stay hidden anymore.
'Why is he still hiding?'
'I gave myself away already.'
'There is really no need for this wolf to go play hide and seek with me...'
It was better for me to give myself away. Even though I was powerful and an alpha, I couldn't take up an entire oack on my own. There was no way I could do that.
'Whelp... looks like he needs a private invitation...'
Me: Arrroooooo!
I howled again and it was only now that the wolf in hiding came out. It was a brown wolf with a lighter brown coat on his back. From the size definitely male and from the aura I felt this was an alpha.
Me: Grrrrr!
The moment I felt that this person was an alpha, I started fletching my teeth at him. I had zero intention of letting this person come closer to me at all.
Thankfully this guy had some brains and backed away.
Now the thing was... I knew that this alpha was the alpha of the pack and also my mate. I felt it and by his actions I could tell that he felt it too.
I stopped fletching my teeth at the wolf the moment it backed away. There was no harm or malevolence coming from him either. He just stood there and looked me into my eyes.
'... well this is surprising...'
'I wonder what I should do?'
The wolf started to come towards me again and as much as I wanted to go and snuggle up at this wolf, I couldn't do so. My consciousness wasn't allowing me to do that.
Wolf: Ruff!
Me: ....
'What you mean follow you?
'There is no way, I am gonna follow you buddy!'
'I don't even know you!'
Me: GRRR!
Wolf: Hmpf!
'Haha very funny.... you think only because you can protect me, I would follow you?'
'News flash!'
'I am an alpha too!'
'I can protect myself very well, thank you very much!'
Me: Ruff!
The moment I answereed with a ruff, all of the sudden, a gun shot echoed through the forrest and in the next moment I felt imense pain from my shoulder. It hit me soo fast that I didn't even know what happened. However I got scared and it was definitelly one heck of a jump scare too.
It didn't take me twice to fly off and run. I didn't know where to run and my shoulder hurt but my instincts just told me to run.
'What just happened?!'
'Who dared to shoot me?!'
'Why even shoot me?!'
'I don't think this was a werewolf....'
'It's not our style but... that means that there are vampires here!'
'This is bad!'
'I have to get away now!'
As I was running away, the alpha came right next to me and started to run parrallel to me. I couldn't care less or give him any attention but one thing was for sure. I was starting to slow down thanks to the bullet wound in my shoulder. That much I knew but I bit it together and endured the pain while we were booking it.
Wolf: Wuff!
Not soon after the wolf barked at me, he immediately ran in front of me and started guiding me. I had really no other way then to follow this stranger.
'I hope this is not a trap!'
'Even if it is one... it's still better than getting caught by whoever just shot me...'
'I am better with my mate then being out here any second longer.'
