-playlist chapter: Leaving So Soon by Robert Castilone
...
Vin was silent. Vin couldn't answer it. Because even Vin did not know what to say to Vera.
Vin is not a stupid kid. However, Vin was not much smarter than Vera academically. In reply and for formality, Vin shook his head and then looked at Vera.
"I don't know. Let's just try to believe in Hojo." Vin replied a little doubtfully.
They walked over to the Hojo when the jet had stopped. The field that was originally beautiful with dried flowers is still the same. As if the presence of the jet is not disturbing at all.
"Are you guys ready?" Hojo asked as a formality. In a few seconds, Hojo looked at Vin and Vera's faces, took a deep breath then finally walked away from them to enter the jet.
Vin and Vera nodded at the same time. The two of them were more curious about what was on the plane than listening to Hojo's orders to be careful while on the plane.
"Vera, don't stay away from me," Vin warns Vera as she enters the cabin where no one is in it.
"Yes, I know. I'm no longer a child, Sis Vin." Vera grumbled, then sat beside Vin nervously.
Like teenagers in general, curiosity overcame Vera. It was seen from Vera's eyes shining enthusiastically. Vera's eyes continued to assess the contents of the gray plane.
"Can you stop staring at me? There might be holes in the plane's walls." Hojo chuckled to Vera.
Vera snorted again in annoyance. Ignoring Vin's hand gesture asking Vera to remain calm.
"Tell me, where are we exactly?"
"We are going to the academy. This time it's the truth."
"Where's that?"
"Away from all continents and on an island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean."
"You're not lying or trying to deceive us, are you? If that's what you do then Brother Vin will make your bones unable to fit together with one another." Vera said threateningly.
Hojo burst out laughing.
"What kind of sentence is that? Can't be with each other? Do you think I'm playing around like I'm playing the role of Princess and Prince? Look out the window. Can you see land?" Hojo said much calmer.
Vera, quickly, moved towards the small window near Vin. Seeing what she was looking at, Vera opened her eyes wide. There were only white clouds they could see.
"Is this real?" cried Vera.
At least, they are above 50,000 feet. There were only white clouds drifting and a blue sky with a tinge of sunlight starting to rise. If she was happy, Vera would be very happy to see this sight.
"This is too high for the size of the plane?" said Vera again.
"Why? What's your problem now, little girl?" Hojo grumbled with displeasure.
It wasn't that Hojo didn't like children. Hojo just wasn't happy to hear Vera's voice demanding too many questions. Mentally Hojo was very exhausted.
"Shh," Vin whispered, one of Vin's hands placed on his lips.
...
"Welcome to Herculean Academy," said Hojo, after a few hours of traveling they finally arrived at an island.
"Let's call this island the Three Ghosts Island." Hojo continued.
After they got off the Jet plane, both Vin and Vera were amazed by what their eyes saw. Vera, the child genius, had to rub her eyes with her right hand because she couldn't believe her eyesight.
A magnificent building that stood in front of them looked so majestic. Looks like the most magnificent castle that ever existed on earth. Even beyond the beauty of any castle.
Vera and Vin's mouths were made to gape wide because of it. Vera and Vin's eyes were bulging and almost popped out of place. Hojo who saw the two naughty children just snorted. Hojo laughed at himself for not being able to put on an amazing expression like the two children.
"You don't want to come in?" asked Hojo, after giving Vin and Vera some time to admire the beauty of the Superhuman Forces Academy's main building.
"Of course," Vin replied hastily following Hojo who was already walking in front of them.
Vera just walked in silence with one hand holding Vin's left hand.
"..."
Entered the front yard of Herculean Academy. Not more than a hectare of the front garden was filled with various trees and several types of flowers that Vin and Vera did not know about.
There are many park benches made of wood and some of them are made of iron which is painted white. Meanwhile, the atmosphere seemed quiet as if there was no sound of activity from inside the main building.
Like they were in the desert sea on an uninhabited island.
"Why is it so quiet?" Vera asked, finally speaking.
"You think this place is a crowded center like a mall or a fish market? This academy is a place for people to study. Like you or Vin." Hojo replied flatly.
They continued to walk into the hall of the main building which turned out to be made of marble and glass walls. There were many twinkling lights above the dome-shaped ceiling. More or less adopted the constellation of stars in galactic units.
When Vera lifted her face, the ceiling that was originally bright white turned rainbow colors with a massive mix of ultraviolet rays. Like a galactic or interstellar appearance show.
"Very beautiful," Vera commented in amazement.
Almost simultaneously Vin and Hojo shook their heads in concern. In some cases, Vin had never seen anything like it before. But, Vin knew enough and restrained himself from acting silly like Vera.
In short, Vin didn't want to embarrass himself in front of Hojo. For Vin, it was enough for him to plead with Hojo when yesterday's situation made it impossible for him to escape.
"Is there someone like me in this place?"
"Of course. Many. The Island of the Three Ghosts was made especially for people like you. Also, Vera will get the most modern medical education. Vera's skills will ultimately be of great help to you in the future."
"Then where will we live?" Vin insisted.
"What are you worried about?"
"Of course. Seeing such a magnificent place like this must have cost him a lot of life. How can I pay for it? Not to mention for Vera's school needs." Vin replied nervously.
Currently, all the money that Vin has been burned because of the uncontrolled action he did. There was no cost to all the luxuries that lay before his eyes.
"You don't have to worry. Just follow all my words," said Hojo smiling broadly. A smile that made Vera shudder in horror.
