Chapter 5 - Shell City

As the trio of Blake, Mary and Sheila were walking out of the village many villagers said their goodbyes to Blake. Even though he had promised that he will visit from time to time, they knew that in the busy life of a soul master, many forget their roots. Hana village was a small village on the northeastern corner of the Golord continent.

Blake asked a ton of questions to Sister Mary about Shell city and even about Soul masters. He didn't want to be known as a country bumpkin when he reaches Shell city. Mary happily answered all his questions.

"Brat stop pestering her so much. We are about to reach the teleporter. If you ask a ton of questions in front of them then it will be like announcing to them that you are a country bumpkin." Sheila said to which Blake made an ugly expression and kept quiet. Seeing this Mary couldn't help but giggle.

After a few minutes, the trio entered a building that had the words 'SK COMMERCE' written on them. Blake had never seen such a tall building before, but he didn't let his awe and fascination show on his face. Seeing him maintain an indifferent expression Sheila couldn't help but chuckle.

As they entered the building they saw a holographic map in front of them which had the blueprint of the entire building. There were many sections like shops, food courts, auctions, and teleportation gates.

Sheila clicked on the last one which showed them the route they should take to reach them. After taking the route shown on the holographic map, the trio stepped into a big room that had 5 gates lined up next to each other.

Two guards were on either side of the gates. And 1 person was sitting in front of a big machine on the side. As the person sitting in front of the machine looked up and saw Mary he smiled and stood up.

"Sister Mary...it is good to see you. How have you been?" the man asked.

"By the grace of the lord I am healthy. What about you Mr. Sanchez?" Mary asked in a polite way.

"After you and Priest Tom had our house cleansed and removed the curse, things have been better." the man surnamed Sanchez said with a big smile.

"Mr. Sanchez this is Sheila. She is like a sister to me and this is Blake, her nephew. They want to teleport to Shell city." Mary said.

"No problem do you have a membership card of SK commerce or would you prefer to pay in cash?" Sanchez asked. Sheila pulled out a black card from her purse and handed it over to Mr. Sanchez. He swiped in on the machine and typed something.

"Both of you can now enter the teleporter" Sanchez said while handing over the card back to Sheila. One of the teleportation doors turned on and blue light was coming from it.

"Blake don't hesitate and keep yourself calm. You won't feel anything." Sheila said and Blake nodded. He entered the door and quickly found himself in a room which looked the same but the people here were different. After a few seconds, even Sheila teleported out of the same door.

"Now we are in Shell city. Let's go to the Blaze clan" Sheila said and blake adjusted his luggage and they both stepped out of the room. As Blake saw that this building was much more lavish than the one he saw.

"This is the branch office of SK Commerce in Shell city. It was obviously going to be better than the ones near villages." Sheila said making Blake embarrassed.

After a few seconds, Sheila and Blake exited the building and Blake could see the entire city bustling. There were cars on the road. It was the first time Blake had seen one. As they were about to walk on the footpath they heard a voice from behind them.

"HEY BLAKEEE." Blake and Sheila looked back and saw Arya and her mother Anya standing with 4 guards and a big white car.

Sheila and Blake walked toward them and sheila said "You didn't have to come to pick us up, Anya."

"Oh please Sheila, you are blake are guests of our family. Of course, we will come to welcome you. Hi Blake, how are you?" Anya asked.

"I am good thanks miss Blaze." Blake said and then he looked at Arya and said "Hey Arya, did you use your soul spirit since yesterday? Aunt Sheila and Grandpa Tom told me I shouldn't use it until I meet your father."

Arya had a proud smile on her face as she said "Yes I did and I even defeated Simon three times. I whipped his ass each and every time."

"Language Arya." Anya said with a stern tone and a side glare which made Arya shut up and stick out her tongue.

"Let's go Harold is at home waiting for us. He is impatient to meet you Blake." Anya said as the guards opened the car doors. Two guards took the luggage from Blake and Sheila's hands and put it in the back of the car. Sheila and Blake sat in the car and the driver started the car. As the car was moving Blake saw many other tall buildings around the city. Arya was explaining to Blake what the main places of the city were.

Then the car passed by two big buildings. They weren't too tall but they were big and at the center of the city. On one building was the logo of a small flame and on the other one were claw marks.

"What is this flame and claw mark building about?" Blake asked looking at Arya.

"That isn't flame but a wisp of mana. The building with the mana logo is the primary academy for soul masters while the claw marks are for warriors."

"What are warriors? Are they people without soul spirit?" Blake asked. He had never heard about warriors. Even Sheila had never mentioned anything about them to him for the past 8 years.

"Everyone has a soul spirit Blake. Warriors are those whose soul spirits are animals or anything related to brute strength. I personally think soul masters are way stronger than warriors." Arya said with a smirk.
