[BUILD TRUST: HAS BEEN COMPLETED. YOUR REWARD CAN BE FOUND IN THE INVENTORY.]
Yami stood up from his seat. He wanted to leave immediately and read the next part of the letter.
"Shun, I need to go now. You can think of me as a normal citizen here in your world to make it easier for you."
Yami smiled and left the restaurant in a hurry. He knew that Shun wouldn't let him go so quickly, but Yami had no time for chitchat.
Yami sprinted as fast as possible and turned to the dark alley where no one was around.
Shun passed by after a few minutes and looked around, and saw nothing but an empty area. He called Yami's name a few more times, but there was no answer.
'I have to keep an eye on him,' Shun thought before running back to the market.
Yami sighed in relief when he saw Shun leaving. He came out of the alley and went to the empty playground a few meters from him.
Yami opened the inventory and clicked the reward. His hands trembled upon touching the soft paper on his skin. Yami took a deep breath before opening the letter.
'Here it goes.'
[January 1st, 2017]
[A game called Soul Beast Online was released that day. After class, I was excited to have the game in my hands and worked two part-time jobs to buy the devices because it was expensive.
Mom scolded me but let me played the game on the condition that I still needed to get good grades in school.]
[April 14th, 2017]
[I had a hard time adjusting to the game. I was always dying and needed help, I tried to make friends online, but they always went to the stronger players for the advantages.]
[July 28th, 2017]
[I finally grasped the game and leveled up faster than before. I could go solo on some quests and not die. I felt happy, but my grades dropped so bad that mom grounded me for a week to study.]
[LETTER LOCKED.]
Yami nearly ripped the letter in half when the next part of the letter was locked. He stood up from the swing and sighed loudly while trying to contain his frustration.
"Ah, I'm going crazy!"
Yami kicked multiple stones from the ground to vent his emotions before going back to the swing.
'I need something to distract me," Yami thought before opening the other reward; the wheel spin.
Light flashed in his vision, and a multi-colored wheel appeared. There are prices at each triangle, and a baby dragon wearing a black suit danced at the side.
Yami's annoyance flamed up while staring at the dragon doing a stup*d dance and pointed at the joystick to spin. Yami clicked the joystick without checking the prices since he didn't want to see the dragon dancing.
[!NOTICE]
[CONGRATULATIONS! YOU WON 10,000 LUCRE!]
A stack of paper money appeared in Yami's hand. He stared at those for a couple seconds before inserting the cash into his pocket.
'I need to know the currency in this world to manage my bills better,' Yami thought and walked away.
Yami planned to rent a room for the night, but he wouldn't last for two weeks after knowing the prices and money he had.
One night's rent cost 600 lucre, and he needed to purchase food and other necessities.
In the end, Yami planned to go back to the forbidden area since there were several houses he could stay in for the night.
"Now, I'm thirsty," Yami muttered while scratching his neck.
As Yami walked by, he saw an old vending machine in the dark alleyway. He stopped, took out his paper money, and inserted it into the bill slot. The machine dropped coins as his change, followed by his chosen drink.
Yami was about to leave when a man bumped his shoulder and fell to the ground while holding his knees.
"Ah! My legs! They are broken!" The man in the yellow shirt yelled while holding his leg.
"Look what you have done, kid!"
Another man appeared behind Yami and helped his friend lift his body, but he fell back and cried aloud.
"You should compensate for my broken leg!" The man yelled again while acting like he was in extreme pain.
"Give us all your money. The doctors are expensive here!" The other man held his palm open in front of Yami, waiting for his money.
Yami looked at them in confusion. He wanted to laugh at their poor acting skills but also wanted to play along.
"Your leg looks fine to me," Yami stared at the man's eyes. His cold gaze felt like he was looking at a dead man.
"Tsk! If I say that they're broken, they're broken!"
"Now, give us your money!"
The two men went closer to Yami to intimidate him. Their eyes showed mockery and ridicule, but those had no effect on Yami.
"You must be in pain. Okay, I'll give you my money," Yami smiled and tilted his head. Instead of reaching his pocket, Yami stepped on the man's foot to hold him in place and kicked his right knee so hard that it created a cracking sound.
"AHH!" The man fell to the ground while screaming in pain, but this time, it was real. His friend's mouth hung open in shock, and he stepped back.
"There, now it's really broken."
Yami crossed his arms while nodding his head with satisfaction at his work. He took the coins he collected from the vending machine and tossed those to the man.
"Now, we're even. Don't lie next time," Yami said and smiled at them, but his eyes showed menace.
The two men looked at one another in fear and hurriedly picked the coins before scurrying away.
'I might have gone too far,' Yami thought while walking towards his destination. He popped his soda open and quenched his thirst.
Yami turned to the other lane and saw three men ganged up to a girl. They locked her against the corner; one guy had a knife placed on the girl's waist while the other held her mouth to prevent her from screaming.
"Another one?"
