"Woah! This is amazing!" Shun exclaimed upon entering the room assigned to him. "You can create an environment with just mana."
"Yes, mana is flexible to anything, but this room has its own limits, too," Quan stated and took out his vessel.
"Okay," Shun replied and brought his vessel. He had a cold sweat due to nervousness at the one-on-one battle with a Legend rank.
"Shun, you are now an official Combatant," Quan stated and activated his vessel. "I'll use the same vessel skill type as yours. Now show me what you've got."
A hammer similar to Shun molded from Quan's vessel.
Shun swallowed his anxiousness, activated his skill, and aimed toward Quan. Although Shun's in Tank class, he still has some offense skills stored in his vessel, but it's a bit weaker compared to the other classes.
Quan was in a defense stance since he needed to witness what Shun could do. His eyes watched every movement of Shun's body for any disadvantages on his side.
"AHH!" Shun yelled and sprinted toward Quan. He was a bit hesitant to hit Quan since he was a senior Combatant.
Shun was about to land a hit on Quan's head, but he was too slow that Quan was able to set his shield in advance.
Shun slid to the side to blow Quan's leg, but again, another shield blocked his attack. He contracted his left leg to swing his hammer again when he tripped on his foot and landed face flat on the ground.
"Oy," Quan looked at him in disbelief. He used his right foot and tapped Shun's stomach since he was lying on the ground for a few seconds. "Get up."
"I'm sorry, Senior Quan," Shun immediately apologized with his head down to show respect and to hide his embarrassed face.
"Shun, focus," Quan stated firmly. "I haven't started attacking yet."
"Yes! I will do my best!" Shun exclaimed with determination while positioning himself to strike again.
Quan lowered his hammer and looked directly into Shun's eyes. He was waiting for him to strike.
'I'm already a Master rank Combatant! I can do this!' Shun thought while putting energy on his legs and arms. 'I need to show Senior Quan that I'm capable!'
Shun screamed while sprinting toward Quan. His mana boosted his extremities and gave power to his movement and strength. Shun jumped and swung his hammer with electric waves to provide damage.
Quan's eyes widened when he saw Shun's figure in the air. A smile broke into his serious face, and he put a shield on top of him.
Shun had already expected Quan to put the shield on his face and legs. He landed on Quan's shield and used it as a platform to vault backward and aim at Quan's rear.
"Ah!" Shun was about to hit Quan's body when a foot kicked him away. His body was thrown against the walls.
Since they were using an artificial body, Shun stood up without feeling any pain and launched another attack, but this time Quan was in both offense and defense.
"Don't hesitate to land a hard blow on me, Shun," Quan stated while they hammered each other.
"Yes, senior!" Shun replied, and he didn't hold back in his attack, but Quan was the one giving minimum effort in the fight.
After 30 minutes of nonstop fighting, Shun's mana was drained, and he transformed back into his original body.
"We'll take a 15-minute break," Quan stated and went out of the room.
"Yes, senior!" Shun yelled enthusiastically, but he couldn't even move his legs, and his hand was trembling.
'Senior Quan must be disappointed in my performance,' Shun sighed loudly. 'I am even discontent with my ability today.'
Shun looked at the white ceiling and used his arm to block the light. 'No time to feel distressed. I need to be better!'
Shun sat up and picked up his vessel. He swung it multiple times for his arms to adjust. Although the weapon was weightless, the wielder needed to know how to use it against gravity.
"You should rest more, Shun," Quan's voice was heard behind him.
"Senior, you're back!" Shun exclaimed with a smile.
"Here," Quan handed him a glass of water to replenish his energy.
"Thank you, senior!" Shun took the cold water, sipped it, and felt relaxed.
"Shun, I know that Tank Class had a disadvantage on offense and power, but don't forget that this class excelled in defense. No matter how strong your enemy is, when you learn how to properly defend and attack, you will win," Quan stated firmly. Made sure that each word he spoke went straight to Shun's ears.
"As I observed earlier, all you did was take offense with the mindset of hitting me at least once. When I attacked you, you never used a shield to protect yourself. You are a Tank, you received most of the damages, but it doesn't mean you'll let yourself break in the process. How can you defend your Squad if you lose?" Quan scolded him while patting the hammer slightly on Shun's head.
"Yes, senior! I understand," Shun pursed his lips and mentally took notes of what Quad had stated.
"Your mana is too little. This will be your disadvantage during battles. That is why don't use your mana for useless attacks. Think of a tactic for your gain without exhausting yourself," Quan added with a loud sigh.
"You're weak, Shun. Are you really a Master rank Combatant?"
Shun was stunned by what Quan asked. His heart felt a pang of pain because Shun knew that he had only gotten his current rank with the help of Liqin and Yami, but he didn't let that affect him.
"Senior, I might be weak with lack of experience, but I will learn from my past mistakes and improve. I will do my best!" Shun stated with persistence. "I won't become a burden to my Squad."
Quan smiled at how Shun motivated himself and threw negativity away while learning from it.
"Fang, can you make this room into Virtual Duel mode?"
"Sure, Quan," Fang spoke from the speaker, and the room's aura changed.
"This mode had unlimited mana supplied to us. We can fight for as long as we want," Quan activated his vessel and looked at Shun. "Are you up to another battle?"
"Yes, senior!" Shun stated and prepared himself for another round.
