"Eh! That ring is a Stygian vessel!? Shun exclaimed in surprise.
"Yes, that's what Liqin said," Yami nodded his head and showed him his soul ring. "You had seen this before."
They were currently in the hallway with multiple doors on each side.
"Calm down, everyone," Su Fang gets in between Shun and Yami. "Unfortunately, Ying can't use his Stygian vessel in this world. It's a pity."
"It's okay. Ying can still utilize his skill using a normal vessel," Mei stated with a giggle. "He is skillful after all."
Yami stood there and felt the immense pressure of their expectation toward him. He still didn't know if he would be as potent without the soul ring, but he was confident in his own skill as a spy.
"Give our little Ying a break," Liqin appeared from behind and held Yami's shoulder before walking into his room. "I'll go rest now, goodnight."
"You can choose one of these rooms to stay for the night," Su Fang gestured toward the doors and let the three of them choose what they wanted.
Yami went to the last room and opened it. The room was simple, with a single bed and drawer on the side.
"Ah, that room is smaller compared to the others," Su Fang appeared on the side. "Are you okay with this?"
"This is perfect," Yami replied and entered the room. He felt his energy drained from his body after seeing a nice bed to sleep on rather than a hard broken mattress inside the forbidden area.
"Ying, these are the towel and clothes for you to change. The bathroom is on the right side," Su Fang handed the things before going to Shun and Mei to assist their needs.
'Finally, a nice fresh bath!' Yami thought excitedly and didn't waste a second before running toward the bathroom.
Inside, Yami removed his ring, and his artificial body vanished. He turned on the shower and felt the warmth from the water that drenched his body and relaxed his aching muscles.
"Ahh~ This is heaven," Yami hummed while enjoying the fresh shower he had for the first time after arriving in that world. After taking his time inside, he wiped the steam from the mirror and looked at his reflection.
"Hmm, I look cute," Yami muttered while turning from side to side to see his full facial feature. "A completely different version from what I look like in my past life."
Yami wiped his body clean and put on the clean clothes. He wore his soul ring back and got out of the bathroom with his dirty clothes hanging on his arm.
Shun was leaning against the wall outside while waiting for him to finish.
"Oh, Ying, it was you inside," Shun stated while scratching his head.
"Yes, I didn't know you were waiting. I should have taken a quick shower," Yami stated. He felt guilty for making Shun wait for long.
"No, it's okay. I just arrived," Shun replied quickly, but he did wait for long.
"I see, then I should go now. Goodnight," Yami waved at him and was about to walk away.
"Um, Ying," Shun called him back. "Thank you."
Yami stopped walking and glanced back at him. "You don't have to, Shun. Both of us have our own purpose of becoming a Combatant."
Before Shun could reply, Yami waved him goodbye.
"Ah, I'm tired," Yami whispered and flopped his body on the soft bed. The clean blanket almost made him fall asleep, but he pulled his body away as he still needed to stay awake.
Yami opened his inventory and clicked on the second reward before he forgot about it.
[CONGRATULATIONS! YOU HAVE RECEIVED A DOOR.]
"A door?" Yami muttered in confusion. He thought it was a useless reward, but when he opened it. A vast silver door appeared in front of him.
"What the— " Yami's mouth hung open in shock. He moved to the side to look at the back, but it was just a plain door.
Yami's heart began pumping out blood faster than usual. He stepped back and observed the door since it was familiar to him.
Yami had been staring at the door for almost 30 minutes, but nothing happened. He activated his skill 'Steel Shield' to protect him if something came out that could cause destruction.
"I need to see what's inside," Yami whispered and fully extended the shield before reaching toward the door knob. He twisted it and noticed that it was unmovable.
"Huh?" Yami was confused. He pulled and twisted the knob, but it didn't bulge. "Should I find a key?"
Yami sighed and sat on the bed. He was about to give up and sleep when a memory struck his brain.
Yami hurriedly went to the door and put his palm above the doorknob. The scanner skimmed his hand, and the door clicked open.
"It's my room," Yami spoke in disbelief. He pushed the door open and revealed his room at his parent's house. Yami's excitement died when he thought it would be his spy room full of weapons and technology; instead, it was his old room when he was young.
Yami went inside and looked around. The duffel bag he bought with him from the trip was still on his bed, unpacked.
"I didn't like it here," Yami whispered to himself. The room made him remember the funeral of his missing sister. He walked out of the door and deactivated it.
The door vanished, but a new icon was displayed at the side of his vision.
Yami lay on the bed and stared at the ceiling. His mind was dancing with multiple thoughts about Suyin and the upcoming battle in the Combatant trainees until his eyes dropped from tiredness.
"Suyin, I will find you..." Yami muttered as darkness consumed his body, and he fell asleep.
