Synopsis
As the Goddess of Destiny peered into the pool she stumbled across a certain man. Zephrin, a man who has suffered in all lifetimes no matter what he did. She watched his life end once again and thought to herself, "He has had a horrible life as usual, this time maybe I should intervene." And so she reached for his soul and added a few modifications to attempt to give him a better life. Then placed him back into the pool to start his next life. "I pray you have a better life this time Zephrin, I wish I could do more for you." One day she may regret her decision to help this man, for sometimes there is a reason behind suffering. This is the story of a cursed man, and how he strives to get his revenge on those who wronged him. Follow him as he grows. Will his life end in tragedy once more or will he destroy all those who oppose him. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Disclaimer: This story will be a hobby so expect sporadic updates. This is also the first story I've ever written so please don't expect too much. May add r18 later but don't count on it being good. Lastly I intend to make it a really dark story so read at your own discretion. *The characters and events are a work of fiction, any similarity to real people or events is purely coincidental and modified for my own use. *Cover image found on google, if you own this image and would like me to change it post a review or comment and I will change it.

Chapter 1 - His Last Incarnation

Realm of Fenril

As Zephrin struggled to free himself from the golden chains he stared at the bloodstained field and thought to himself

'How did things come to this? I was just about to execute that bastard when all of a sudden that damn rift opened!'

Zephrin was unable to do anything as a Winged Abomination descended from the rift and began to charge at his friends. When the monstrosity neared them, it began to tear his friends apart one by one. As his friends continued to fall, he looked skyward towards the Heavens with visible hatred as he screamed

"WHY! WHAT DID WE DO TO EARN YOUR WRATH! THAT MAN NEEDED TO DIE!"

Heaven roared in response and another rift was torn in the sky, from within that rift another Winged Abomination descended rapidly and began ripping his friends apart at an even faster rate. Finally he could no longer withstand it, so he slashed his own arm off to free it from the golden chains.

As he bled out rapidly he charged forward with reckless abandon, at a speed not even he knew possible. When he neared one of the two monstrosities he focused every ounce of energy remaining in him into his now crimson stained blade, with a strength unlike ever before he slashed at the Winged Abomination's chest, intent on killing it before it could hurt anyone else.

The beast seemed not to notice the mana infused blade despite the bright glow, or it merely didn't care.

*clang*

The blade struck it's chest but moved no further, as if the beast was indestructible.

*crack*

Zephrin stared as the blade he has used to slay countless enemies began to shatter. All he felt was despair, he who was known as the king of battle, and the slayer of millions, could only feel despair.

"God damn it!" he growled "How is this possible!?"

The beast proceeded to finish killing his friend as it looked towards him with what appeared to be a smirk despite not having an actual face.

After both Winged Abominations finished killing his friends, they slowly walked towards him.

Zephrin made no attempt to move anymore, and with lifeless eyes looked at the monstrosities and then at Heaven. He spoke softly in what could hardly be considered a whisper

"I guess this is it huh. This is how my life ends..." at this point his eyes began to water and a tear that was barley visible on his bloodstained face began to form. He then began speaking much louder, "How is Heaven fair and just? We only did what we had to in order to survive... why are we being punished for trying to live?" his lifeless eyes regained some determination as he screamed unto the Heavens "IF YOU WANT TO KILL ME, I WILL DO EVERYTHING IN MY POWER TO FIGHT BACK!"

Zephrin began to glow as he tried to detonate his core, as he neared critical levels the Winged Abominations visibly reacted with what seemed like panic. Unfortunately before he finished both monstrosities drove their massive claws into him and tore him into pieces.

After finishing their task they both ascended to the rifts from whence they came.

All that remained on the field was unrecognizable corpses and silence.

Withholding her tears, the Goddess of Destiny watched this unfold silently before she pulled his soul to adjust it for his next life. Praying for him to have a better life next time.

(A/N: Refer to Synopsis)

While the Goddess of Destiny was unaware and despite her good intentions, as Zephrin's soul was traveling through the realm of souls, another entity threw its curse once more, and in an indecipherable voice said

"Zephrin you will suffer again, it is the only way. I don't care if you hate me for it, I have no choice..."

The entity then faded out of the Soul Realm. Leaving no trace of ever being there, like they have for countless lifetimes.
