At the darkest night that befell upon the village, bones of thousand animals were gathered in the middle of a big field.
A young woman was tied tightly against the stake, surrounded by the bones and branches, looking helpless. Her grey eyes were clouded with tears as her lips kept mumbling something, saying she was not evil. But it was too late to seek redemption, the whole kingdom would not buy it. They would have to do what they had to do: to annihilate the kind of creature that was not supposed to exist anymore.
When an old, fat man with long grey beard approached the circle of bones that surrounded the woman, holding a metal torch that was alight, a loud cheer erupted from the crowd. He was feeling smug as he lowered down his torch.
The intensity of his eyes pierced the woman's soul for she could feel his evilness as she knew that he was about to set her on fire. The light from the flame that he held in his hand, lit up his face. The horror of what was to come caused her body to shake with fear. She wanted to scream but could not. Her body was frozen. Her eyes full of tears. She knew she was helpless.
Slowly, the flames started to spread. A ring of a fire was formed, burning the woman who writhed in agony in the middle of it.
A loud agonising scream echoed in the air but the scream was died down by the loud wicked laughter of the crowd, cheering upon the woman's agony.
Whilst the crowd celebrate the woman's death, a young boy was sobbing weakly. His grey eyes watched every second of the flames wiped off the woman's body. His ears turned deaf from the woman's scream. His lips were trembling as he quietly mumbled,
"Mama!"

Please vote for my new story. This is the second book and the prequel of the first book in the series of "A Tale of A Forest Girl". However, you are not required to read the first book which is "Birth of The Free Bird", as this one can be read as a stand alone. Enjoy.
