Chapter 24 - Roar Throughout the Forest.

I didn't have to wait that long for the animals and beasts to pass or for them to go back into their own territory as I started to descend the tree to follow after the shaking trees.

"Well at least it won't be that hard to follow them I guess. I mean if I got lost that would be pretty bad." A slight smile formed on my face as I remembered a story about a powerful green haired swordsman that I once a the fortune of burying.

I continued to follow after the shaking trees as quickly as my feet could take me without tripping. But I didn't have to follow for that much longer as the shaking of the trees was starting to shake less and less.

I started to slow down as I began to look for the nearest tree, but unfortunately every tree that I looked at was worse than the next!

Remember when I said it was a crazy and insane idea.

Yeah I do too.

Was not a good idea to get off the tree I was originally on. Pretty sure the damn tree was the best tree in the forest or just a fated tree.

Because the ones that I am currently looking at are not the most ideal for me to get a good vantage point.

"Well, shit." I cursed as I kissed my teeth. "Well, I still have to find some tree to climb… well maybe that one will do."

I sighed slightly as I found a tree that fit the bare minimum requirement for what I was looking for.

Then for some reason I noticed that the entire forest seemed to get really quiet. Even the bugs seemed to have disappeared.

I even felt myself shaking slightly as I quickly tried to climb to the highest point in the tree to hide.

'Yeah, great freaking idea Bastion, great! Just great!' I started to berate myself as I found the best spot I could find to hide.

I just found a spot when a loud voice filled with anger, pain, ferocity, and blood roared throughout the forest!

"MY, BOYYYYYYY'S!!!!! SOMEONE KILLED MY BOY'S!!! I'LL KILL THE BASTARD...!!!!"

The roar seemed to become inhumane as it continued to echo through the forest. I could even hear a beastial roar that seemed to come from Big Reds Boars, One-Tusked Red Boar.

But the boar's roar seemed to trigger something else as the sound returned to the forest in an odd way.

I froze as my jaw dropped… before I started to laugh.

I just couldn't control myself

"Are you telling me that they were your sons!! They were so weak, and why? You didn't even seem to care in the first place, just look at their equipment." I said as I tried to calm myself from laughing.

"Maybe I am insane."

Somehow I was able to calm myself as I looked in the direction of the roar as it started to lessen as the sound of multiple trees breaking, snapping, and cracking started to follow after the roar.

Then the angry roars and cries from the animals and beasts soon followed as I looked down and noticed that multiple beasts of all kinds started to head in the direction of the roar.

But after a while the roars seemed to stop before the sound of heavy fighting, multiple angry roars, and inhumane screaming started to echo in the distance.

"Talk about an insane fishing trip, right. Who would've thought that they would be the kids of Big Red Boar. I mean, bad luck is the only luck that I seem to be having as of late." I shook my head with a slight smile as I continued to listen to the sound of heavy fighting and roars.

I could only smile as I tried to make myself somewhat comfortable yet still out of sight, to the best of my abilities as I knew that I had a good chance that I would be staying in the tree for a while.

Even the thought of me trying to run in the forest popped in my head. But I quickly dismissed it as I remembered one of the things you should never do in an unknown forest.

"Don't run blind in a forest you don't know."

But after a short while the sound of heavy fighting started to lessen as the roars were becoming less and less until it disappeared.

Then after a small amount of silence started to follow before a loud and powerful roar echoed through the forest. Then I saw the trees starting to shake as a loud rumbling noise started to go away from my current location.

I was about to release a sigh of relief until I felt the tree that I was currently hiding in start to shake as I looked down as I started to pale a little.

Thousands and thousands of animals, beasts, and even giant insects started running away from where the roar had come from.

Then it was soon followed by the loud sound snapping sound of the trees as the sound of an inhumane roar soon followed after.

But what surprised me, was how some of the animals, beasts, and insects reacted to the roar.

Some of them stopped as they turned to face the roar as they went against the tide that they started.

Many of them didn't even last a single breath as only the strongest of the ones survived to charge towards the direction of the roar. While the rest continued to run away.

"This is insane. Why would they respond to that roar? Is it a skill caused by his rage?" I asked aloud as I watched the tide lessen as I also tried to listen to the sound of heavy fighting.

There were a few times when it did get close as I even felt the tree starting to shake violently as the sounds of fighting really intensified.

The process of heavy fighting, roars, and more heavy fighting continued on for a while as I seemed to have a rare spurt of luck as I was able to somehow survive.

I couldn't believe it yet I had to because it happened, as I released a long sigh of relief.

"This has been an interesting fishing trip. Still, I can't believe that happened, they got so close at some times. Yet it was interesting how Big Red was able to summon or attract those animals, beasts, and the insects though. Maybe I should think of a special burial rite that would fit him perfectly."

I started to smile slightly as I looked up through the branches of the tree to look at the stars in the sky.

"I wonder how many other Otherworlds are out there? Maybe I could get lucky and learn how to summon Otherworlders… naw that would be too much of a headache. Still I wonder what one of those really ancient burial rites might do to someone like Big Red…"

I just continued to look up at the stars as multiple ideas continued to form in my head. From good, bad, ugly, dumb, to everything in between as I started to head down a rabbit hole while stargazing.
