Author's Note: if something is said with 'this' that now means that Kroft is thinking it. It saves time for the readers and the writer than me having to say Kroft thought every time. Alrighty that's all lads.
In a matter of minutes all of the work that Kroft had put into building his small undead army was blown to smithereens. Both literally and figuratively. Kroft looked at the massive battles that were simultaneously taking place next to each other and looked throughout the chaos for any openings. What he found instead was a mismatch of destruction that spread itself throughout the once prosperous city. Corpses that were left were beyond recognition so Kroft devised himself a plan. In order to survive he would need to rely on his undead until he could upgrade his personal power level. This battlefield was filled with some of the strongest beings that Kroft had ever looked upon, they were perfect to serve him. His army of wild animals were destroyed as he used them as meat shields to guide him through the mayhem. A stray beam of an unidentified liquid immediately disintegrated two wolves before they could even react. Another three wolves were crushed to death under the falling limb of a ginormous monstrosity. By the time Kroft had managed to find relative safety by the ruins of a mountain of mingled human and monster corpses, all of his undead were wiped out. The only one left was Leo as he was given the same protection by the undead as Kroft himself while he transported Kroft throughout the battlefield. A small rumble shook the ground in front of Kroft as a shower of dirt sprayed forth leaving a lizard the size of a man standing on two legs taking in its surroundings. Before it could make a move though a giant eagle twice its size swooped down and clawed out a chunk of its head. Kroft was awestruck as he watched the eagle maneuver the sky with amazing agility, shifting between the form of a majestic bird and a man mid air depending on what was more suited for slaying the opponent in front of it.
"Focus." was the one word that Kroft said. He steeled his nerves and calmed himself down. Adrenaline was pumping through his veins creating a sense of excitement that he was not going to let control him.
Kroft quickly found his way over to the mostly intact lizard thing dude guy. In Krofts mind he identified it as a lizard man but still wasn't sure if it was the correct classification.
'This is no time to be debating this right now!'
Kroft didn't dwell on his inner monologue as he quickly stood over the lizard's body.
"Ayo" he chanted, well it wasn't much of a chant, more of just a quick cast.
In a matter of seconds the lizard man once again raised its body and Kroft didn't even wait for it to bow or whatever his new servant was going to try to do for loyalty.
"Welcome, welcome! Now dig a hole and get us the fuck out of the open! GO!" Kroft qucikly commanded as he felt that the longer he stood here the higher probability of getting murdered by literally anything around him increased dramatically. As if to prove his point a spear of ice mutilated Leo throwing his body out of Krofts sight.
The lizard man understood Kroft's urgency and quickly dug a tunnel into the ground which Kroft quickly hopped into. The lizard man used his razor sharp claws to dig down deeply into the terrain of the ground to a level that would make sure they weren't accidentally crushed by any impacts that appeared from the surface. The ground rumbled so much that he thought that there must be an earthquake until he realized that they were just the vibrations from the battles above him showering down into the planet.
Once they were a good distance down into the ground Kroft ordered the lizard man to stop for a second and took a breather.
"Okay, Okay, Okay." he quickly repeated to himself.
'This is working out way better than I imagined. I thought I would run in and attempt resurrections on as many corpses as possible. Then after using them for protection leave with the least amount of damages. That was supposed to leave me with at least a few great undead that could protect me in this horrible fucking world. But finding this lizard is perfect. Underground is the safest place right now and it allows me to do this.'
As he finished his thought he had insects crawl out from under his shirt. These were the undead bugs that he turned into undead while he was in the forest and now they were going to be the perfect scouts for potential undead above the ground. He had the bugs crawl onto the lizard man and ordered him to surface. This time though he made sure that he only made a hole big enough for the bugs to escape so that his lizard man wouldn't be slaughtered by a passing being again. Kroft plan worked and his vision was filled with the squabbles of the world above him. He observed the battles and tried to scout out battles near their end. That's when he saw a very short man wearing what Kroft would describe as a mech of ice. What surprised him though wasn't that there was a huge armor of ice being controlled by a short man that was fighting against a giant with blazing fire surrounding it. The giant itself was big enough that its toe was the size of multiple floors of a building. The only other thing that Kroft had ever seen so big was skyscrapers from his previous life.
"For a short dude, ice man over here is holding his own against Mr. Giant." Kroft said to no one in particular.
"Get us under them." He ordered the lizard man who responded immediately by digging through the dirt.
'No matter who loses, if I get to their bodies in time I will be able to resurrect them. Both are powerhouses since they are able to stand off to each other. Although having a short, slightly overweight man is more practical, it still isn't as cool as a fire giant.'
Midthough Kroft ordered the lizard to stop digging and almost instantly after a boom shook their entire surroundings. The giant had fallen and with it a crater the size of a city block had been indented into the ground. Kroft didn't know exactly what would have happened if they continued going up, but he doubted it would have been anything good with such an explosive impact. Kroft quickly checked the bugs that weren't decimated by the fallen giant and confirmed its death. Immediately he had the lizard dig out of the dirt and he found himself next to the now dead giant.
'Fuck, I hope this works.'
Kroft placed his hand onto the body of the fire giant and he looked like a mosquito next to an airplane. Even with such a difference though he had just one thing to say.
"Ayo"
