'It really is a status screen. I wonder why it appeared now?' He thought while slowly reading the status screen not wanting to miss a single word.
'I have a human form! Thank god! I can finally jerk off' He thought while crying tears of joy.
Abruptly and without warning, the sun got blotted by the moon, or that is what appeared to have happened. Darkness twisted and turned unnaturally slowly through the woodlands. It consumed any and everything. The dark got gloomier until suddenly, a cold but warm whisper echoed throughout the forest.
"Listen to me, my child."
"Your true self, you have descried."
"For you who was forever neglected."
"For your drowned soul, I resurrected."
"Recompensation is greatly expected."
"For this new realm must be interconnected."
"For I am Shar, goddess of darkness and night, your god, sovereign, and mother."
The sun returned with its usual vigor and blinding lights. The deathly darkness never to be seen again. Disappearing as quickly as it came. It appeared as if everything that just occurred was pure delirium. But there it was, a black disk with a deep purple border engraved into a necklace, the symbol of Shar.

The wolf stared at the necklace with pure shock, not able to fathom what just occurred.
'Calm down Eric! You're a wolf for god's sake! This shouldn't surprise you!' He thought while absolutely flabbergasted.
'Why can't I own a power with no attachments. ugh, whatever, I have no reason to complain.' He thought while equipping the necklace around his *ahem* neck, duh.
'Well, It answered my question. The status screen appeared because I saw my own image. Furthermore, my soul was supposedly saved by a god and I have to repay this god by connecting this realm to something else?'
'Great! Just what I needed!' He thought sarcastically while drinking from the pool of water.
'Looks like I wasn't the only one who was spooked by this turn of events.' He thought while looking at the herbivores who had started to leave the area altogether.
"Wait, what is this?" Eric said out loud. There suddenly appeared an arrow below the transformations with the name 'Skills' beside it. The list of skills most likely appeared because of Shar's appearance and not because of the author forgetting to write something as obvious as that down on the status screen from the start.
[[Skills]]
[Passive: Keen Hearing and Smell.]
[Passive: Mind Labyrinth.]
[Passive: Telepathy.]
[Active: Telepathy (Compulsion)]
[Active: Baleful Dirge.]

[Active: Telekinesis]
[[Shared Skills]]
[Passive: Speak, read, and write Common]
[Passive: Mind Labyrinth.]
[Passive: Telepathy.]
[Active: Telekinesis]
[Active: Metamorph]
'Well, the first list must be the skills of my current form, and the second list must be the skills that can be used in any of the forms. Also, Telepathy (Compulsion) must have been the one I accidentally used to make the herbivores let me drink from the reservoir. Cool.'
*ahem* He coughed while standing as upright as a saluting soldier.
"Change to human form!"
"..."
*Achoo*
The absence of change made Eric look like an absolute dimwit. He twiddled his thumbs and looked out with darting eyes.
'Metamorph human.' He thought, and as expected, Eric started to transform, his bones fractured into a million pieces and his flesh started to recede and extend in a grotesque manner according to his will. Pain filled the entirety of his body and soul, a pain so great that he would have passed out if it didn't stop as fast as it came. In a split second, he transformed.
In place of the monstrous wolf was a 195 cm tall man in his early twenties. With his blonde hair and mesmerizing blue eyes, he holds a cool and calculating demeanor. He has a masculine lean build with wide shoulders and a muscular abdomen.
Last but not least, he's naked.

"Not bad, not bad. I look just like I wish I looked."
Eric walked towards a lush tree where a family of adorable squirrels resided.
"Guess I'll try telepathy out."
'Hello little friends. Want some nuts?' He thought while using his telepathy skill on the squirrels. For a moment they all stopped with whatever they were doing, the next moment one of them ran away in clear distrust while another one jumped down landing on Eric's shoulder.
'So you do understand me. It seems telepathy transcends language. Sorry little guy I lied, I don't have any nuts.'
The squirrel looked at Eric with utter shock and sadness.
'Alright, alright I'll get some for you.'
By using his telekinesis ability he was able to levitate everything that was on the ground in a 2-meter radius and hence effectively find a lot of nuts.
"Bye-bye little one. Take good care of yourself alright." he said knowing it wouldn't understand. The squirrel was busy with the nuts anyways.
*sigh* With a look of considerable determination, Eric began his first step to integrate into an unknown world.
"I'll have to get used to my skills to survive in this world. You never know what's outside the forest."
Gazing at the broad sky and beautiful trees, Eric's eyes never held a conviction this strong before. He knew, that this wasn't a movie and that his journey most likely would be filled with horrors worse than death, and he had to be ready for it.
