Chapter 4 - Building a liar... lair!

Austin raised his hand as it hovered over the demon Lord's body. He stared at it for quite some time before taking a deep breath. A dark form of energy moved from Malekith's body. It swirled and moved maliciously before gathering at Austin's palm. It moved into his palm seeping into his bloodstream and like a liquid being drunk with a straw the energy moved into his body.

Austin felt a prick on his palm and then an itch. Austin was used to this, besides it would only get worse than that sooner.

_____

Absorbing...3%....9%...15%....25%...32%...49...

_____

The number only kept going up and Austin could only do his best to bear with the pain as it increased. The palm of his hand was itching like crazy and he could feel an unbearable pain from it. It felt hot and Austin felt like he would burst into tears but he knew he had to bear with it otherwise the absorption process would be ruined.

He learnt this hard way quite a while ago when he could no longer tolerate the pain. Ever since then he had increased his pain tolerance but nothing felt this painful. Nothing prepared him for this.

The pain increased considerably and as soon as the absorption process reached 90% the pain multiplied. It was as if his pain nerves sensitivity were increased and someone had set fire on it. Austin let out an abysmal shout and could not continue anymore. He finally let go as soon as the absorption process reached 93%.

He raised his hand and waved it trying to cool his hand down. A black smoke wafted through the air until it finally disappeared. The demon Lord's body turned into ash before finally drifting into the air.

Austin let out a deep breath and was surprised when he noticed steam come out of his mouth. He was only surprised when he noticed steam coming out of his body and his body had increased in weight.

He had always made sure to keep his body on the lean muscular side but now his body was just slightly entering the heavyweight side. His muscles were bulging and veins popped out on his thighs.

(side mission: absorb demon kings power: complete Reward:nothing)

Austin waved his hand as he had always gotten such a notification. Anytime he defeated a difficult opponent he would have to absorb them to complete the mission. There wasn't any reward as absorbing the power of the opponent was considered more than enough by the system.

Austin did not know how to explain this power. It was the most incredible feeling in his entire life. Even when he had absorbed the other creatures he had never gotten a rush like this. His body was bursting with life and energy.

Austin decided to test out his powers. As he tested out his strength by jumping and flying and breaking the ground he noticed something. It was the first time he had absorbed over 90%. Also this energy felt strange, like it was more powerful. When he absorbed either a dragon or a giant their energy felt different.

Like they were screeching and clawing at his soul. But this energy, the energy from the demon lord was tranquil. It was the most calmful experience he ever had. The irony of the most evil being in the world having the most gentle and soothing energy was amazing to Austin.

After testing his power out, he landed on the ground. After all it was his first time flying but he had done it easily. It was like he had the instincts of a bird and just knew what to do.

"I wonder who I should start with first. The kingdom of Melvin have only shown me nothing but grace, but I feel like their actions were hypocritical, they only did so, so that I could get rid of the hydra's in the lake. I'll come back to them later but I guess I can start by planting seeds of destruction in Amkevia."

Amkevia was the place were Austin had been summoned to. The people who had taken away his life and forced him to live like a savage.

"But first I need a liar...a lair." Austin corrected himself. "It's only natural that I do so, after all every villain has one, even third rate villains have some kind of safe house."

Austin floated forward and moved around in a circle as he shook his head. "I got it."

Austin moved forward creating a sonic boom disappearing from where he had been. He appeared a second later next to a giant waterfall that flowed into a lake.

Austin surveyed the ground for quite a while before blasting a giant hole behind the water fall. Austin hollowed out the cave he had made and continued expanding more and more. He just kept expanding until it was bigger than several kilometres.

His dark energy beam moved around, crushing rocks and stones, smoothening them out. The hard granite had become so smooth and polish that it was comparable to marble.

Austin then started to create rooms one by one. The first was his bedroom. Giant and empty. After that followed 13 gigantic rooms that were carved out of the earth. Then a big hole was connected to the surface which Austin had covered with a hatch made of rock. He also created several exits and several emergency exits.

Austin marveled at his creation. He had just built himself a lair albeit it was underground, it would have to do. He just needed to decorate it so that it would seem like an actual lair. It also needed light.

"I also need some air conditioning, being underground is way too hot." Austin said. Austin walked into an empty room that was larger than all the others. There were several small podiums.

Austin opened his system and went to his online garage. It was filled with the vehicles, aircrafts and motorbikes. There were over 50 different vehicles including helicopters, jets and weaponized cars. Austin spent quite some time summoning several of them and decorating the underground garage with cars. They were all placed on the podiums. The helicopters and jets were also placed on podiums. Austin had placed them under the roof. It wasn't a roof but it was capable of opening up after Austin had adjusted it. So if he wanted to fly a helicopter the surface would open up and he could fly it out.

Austin created some holes on the surface ground which allowed for sunlight entry into the darkness of the underground area. He then found some sand and heated it up until finally he created glass. He fitted the glass into into the holes he had created for it.

As the sunlight illuminated the insides Austin felt a sense of accomplishment. All he needed now was some furniture, decorations and henchmen.

"Mhhhm," Austin scratched his non existent beard. "I highly doubt that I can just hire some henchmen, besides it's not like they have a resume."

Austin walked over to a helicopter and got inside it. He waved his hand and the surface hatch opened. He then flew the helicopter out. Flying a helicopter was not that hard especially since the system had given him the option of simplification. Simplification was exactly as it sounded.

The system had simplified flying helicopter to the point where it was similar to flying a helicopter in a video game. Only the accelerator, brakes and lever existed on the helicopter.

If he wanted he could return it to the normal version where he actually had to learn how to fly a helicopter which he already did.

The simplified version was better though. He could take off faster, fly faster, land faster and more easier. He could land anywhere easily.

The helicopter turned west as it headed for the imperial capital.
