Chapter 1 - Note by the author

I believe that I could not have written a long story by myself, and that is why I want to mention those people who made it possible for me to publish this story.

Four people were essential on my journey of writing ''Vermisst'', a story that I would never abandon even after many years;

I created this universe as an inexperienced writer who decided to write short horror stories in a village with no inhabitants and whose history only a few know.

I want to thank Galo, for his idea of making a short film that was never done but which inspired Vermisst's plot.

Ayrton, for his practical suggestions, for being an important source of support and encouragement in creating and also closing it, and for helping me to build the basis for this story. And to that person, who today trusts, encourages me and helps me with the scientific theory behind Vermisst, who I call my father.

And, of course, to those nightmares that caused me to be sleep deprived and to the experiences that made me able to narrate the cold, the pain, and the lights.

Especially the lights.
