Sometimes in life, all you do, all you are, boils down to a single choice.
Your options are revealed to you with immaculate clarity.
If Chalidah dies, the cause of the VE activists is as good as lost. The feeders will lose direction; they will be easy pickings for Eugenie, and everyone like her–because you don't think she's the only one who has her eyes on the VE business, do you? Of course not. You're not naive.
You can't afford to be naive.
She's also the furthest away from you, and so the one most difficult to protect.
If Sendra dies, who cares? Will you miss her? Will Chalidah?
Maybe for a little while. But then? Then they'll go back to their lives, as if nothing has changed.
Isn't that right?
And in the end, does any of that matter? Does it matter enough to you?
Because the only other option is for you to risk your own life in order to protect them. Leave your child behind. Let go of everyone you love.
Is this really your fight?
