Chapter 2 - 1 To young Chlo... My advice

Hmm! Where do I start from?...

Growing up in an inclusive city (originally a country, often referred to as a city) where there are still traces of internalized misogyny in the society, Chlo never gave up on her aspirations.

After being raised by her sister for 13 years until they parted ways when she got married, Chlo was enrolled in the city's biggest Academy; Central city Academy for future generations.

Young Chlo had always been curious about what life outside the city would look like as she's always wanted freedom and independence as her companion which is also the motto of the city; One's best companion is to have freedom and independence.

But too bad the city is only a sayer of words and not a doer of an action.

If only the city had supported all its citizens equally, it would have been easier for the Chaeya sisters and the other citizens like them to live a free-willing and independent life. Before joining the Academy at the age of 13, Chlo had other choices to choose from as every other Amashan (people from the lower class; mainly the poor, the orphans, etc.) would do.

The choices were either to enroll in the Academy to train as a soldier and continue to serve the nation forever or become a government assistant for the Imashan citizens (the upper class of the city e.g. rich, Nobel, business traders, etc.). As much as the choices were limited so was the recognition in the work field.

At the age of 20, Chlo started to build up herself to be the best character, she worked harder every day and night and limited any form of distractions, from communicating with colleagues to friends and so on.

She was often called a sissy for looking like a fragile boy. Chlo struggled to build up her confidence and evolve into the person she has always wanted to come to be.

During one of her missions, she made friends with a colleague who also struggled with fitting in because she didn't know anything, but unfortunately, their mission wasn't successful due to Chlo's bipolar disorder (manic depression), and she was unable to be promoted from a soldier in training to an official soldier.

Chlo and Kirst stayed best friends for 4 years and slowly managed to help each other overcome their greatest problems and were both made official soldiers.

In the fifth year of their friendship (chlo was 25 then), the two friends began to open up to various interests which somehow affected their relationship as they weren't close like sisters anymore.

In the same year, Chlo came to be recognized by one of her seniors who noticed her work ethic and nominated her to be awarded as the young best soldier in training. This nominee silently stirred up a feud between Chlo and Kirst as Kirst suggested that Chlo wasn't right for the award because she was an Amashan and Kirst was an Imashan from a wealthy family sent to the academy to be trained before getting married.

Shortly after, Kirst drew an enemy borderline between the both of them which made them stop being friends because Chlo started to get recognized and appreciated for everything she does, and Kirst hated the fact that an orphan like her could be under a spotlight that only the Nobel and richly deserves.

Kirst felt hostility toward Chlo that she was willing to get her killed just so she could be under the spotlight and become recognized as well.

Chlo

To my younger self, I wish you continued to grow to be that person you've always imagined when you looked into the mirror, I wish you made things right with her and let her know how much you truly deserved everything. I wish you had more time to live up to what you were known as, I wish you had more time to break more records and rules.

If karma could play its tricks in the next life, I wish we could meet again as Chlo Chaeya.
