I waited for about 2 minutes before the girls showed up and they brought cotton candy.
"What's up?you sounded like a wreck on the phone",Diane handed my cotton candy to me.
"Let's go in first",I pulled the curtain to the side and we piled into the booth and sat.
"OK so I saw him!".
Lisa raised an eyebrow,God I've always wanted to be able to do that,"who?".
"Mr barefoot and shirtless?",lisa guessed and i nodded.
"Mr what and who now?",Katherine and Diane said simultaneously as confusion was written on their faces.
"He's the guy that almost ate Nessa alive at the park last night"Lisa explained and now it was Katherine and Diane's turn to gasp.
"Did he recognize you?"Katherine askeda."wait how do you know he was the one,it was pretty dark out yesterday".
"I know,but I still caught a glimpse of him since the street lights were on and also his cologne,I smelt it".
"Hate to break it to you Nessa,but a lot of people use the same cologne",Diane said with a soothing hand on my shoulder.
"Haha,thanks for the new found knowledge",I said with a deadpanned look.
"Both of you stop the bickering",Lisa said and turned to face me."Its a good thing he didn't recognize you."
"Wait,but what if he did and he's just playing with her mind?",Katherine added.
"Katherine!",lisa smacked her arm and sighed deeply."There's no need to be dark.Dean isn't that sinister"Lisa added reassuringly.
"Dean?wait you know him",I was shocked.
Lisa shrugged,"I mean yeah but not technically,we've uhm been together a couple of times".
"Hmm hmm",Katherine snickered,Lisa rolled her eyes and ignored her.
"So don't worry,he's not going to come for you even though he recognizes you.
"Okay",I said with my mind at little bit ease.
I let go of my worries and we took some pictures,majority of them were silly pictures but they captured our happiness.By the time we were done,it was around 4pm so we decided to call it a day and go get some dinner.
We couldn't decide on whether we should have dinner at a diner or restaurant,so we wrote out *dinner* and *restaurant* in 2 small papers and folded them.Then we stopped a guy that was passing by to roll the papers for us and then we elected Diane to choose,She chose restaurant and we were all happy except Diane who had been craving a cheese burger for a while now.
"Thank you",I shouted after the guy and waved at him."So which restaurant should we eat at?".
"Ouh,ohh,what about Pot au feu down town?"Lisa said,it almost looked like she was drooling.
I didn't even think before giving my answer"No,I can barely pronounce the name,which means it's overly fancy and fancy equals expensive.I'm not about to pay 100 dollars for a forkful of spaghetti",I explained in one breath.
"Oh,what about Thai tanic?"Diane asked.
I looked at her long and hard,"there's a restaurant called thai tanic?Is that a thing?or you're trying to make a joke?"
"No no,I'm serious.There's also Thai me up and Thai the knot"she explained."But its thai asin Thailand".
"Thai tanium"lisa said and we all laughed.The bend over slapping your knee kind of laughter.
"Bish tf!".I wiped off a stray tear from my eyes,to say i was shocked would be an understatement but I also wasn't shocked,it was great for publicity.I turned to face Katherine."Kath any ideas?".
"Let's just go to P'sghetti's,you can never go wrong with spaghetti".
I could never not want spaghetti,I looked at lisa and Diane for their approval and they were okay with it.
"Okay spaghetti it is,let's go".We made our way back to the car,Katherine threw the keys to Lisa.
The evening air was great and with sam smith playing in the background,it felt so peaceful.The drive to the resturant was a short one as it was somewhat around the corner.It was almost sun down,we entered the restaurant and took a table,the menu's were on the table so we looked through it not like we hadn't already made up our minds to have spaghetti.
A waiter came to take our orders and told us our orders would be ready in 5 minutes.
I stood up,"guys I need to use the bathroom,I'll be back in a few".
"Want me to come with you?"Lisa asked.
"Unless you really have to pee then no,let's not do that thing where girls follow themselves to the bathroom,I'll be fine".I said and left.
I found the bathroom,did my business and came out.I met the waiter by our table serving our food,I sat down and dug into my food.It was not my first time eating here but the taste of the food always amazes me,every single ingredient was well thought out.
I was stuffing my face with spaghetti when Lisa suddenly said"Oh my God,Vanessa don't panic",I looked up at her because I was confused and then I heard his voice.
"Hey lisa".
In that moment I choked on the forkful os spagetti i had just put in my mouth,which led to a strand of spaghetti dangling from my nose and rapid coughing.l and his attention shifted to me.
"Waoh,are you okay?",he asked and i waved my hand to indicate i was.
Diane immediately gave me a glass of water and Katherine rubbed my back.When I had calmed down a bit,I grabbed some tissues from the center of the table and wiped my nose,mouth and hands with it.
All eyes were on me,God I felt like such a drama queen.
Lisa sighed,"Okay uhm Dean meet Vanessa,Katherine and Diane,girls this is Dean",I broke out in sweat again but I tired my best to hide my nervousness.He went round shaking Diane and Katherine and when he stood by my side of the table,he finally got a good look at my face.
"Hey,you're the girl I met at the carnival today",he said enthusiastically but I pretended not to recognize him at first sight,he noticed and said "I gave you back your inhaler that fell on the ride".
"Ohh,yes yes I do remember I'm sorry",I feigned surprise".It was sunny in the afternoon so I didn't get a good look at you".
He put out his hand for a handshake and I took it."Is this fate of what?I've seen you twice just today"He said looking straight at me and I almost shuddered because i was getting chills and goosebumps.I immediately removed my hand and stylishly wiped it clean on my jeans,"Coincidence maybe",I said and managed and awkward laugh.
"Dean do you want to join us or are you here with someone?",Lisa asked.
The speed at which I turned my neck to look at her and glared at her hard,how dare she?.
He chuckled,"maybe next time ladies,I'm here with a friend.I just noticed Lisa and decided to say hi".He took his leave.
I waited till he was out of listening range."Lisa",I said and kicked her legs under the table.
"I was just been trying to be polite",She shrugged.
"Well it'd have been polite to not invite him to sit with us when you know that I'm uncomfortable around him",I was a bit mad at her.
"I was also trying to see if he'd recognize you and he clearly didn't",Lisa defended herself.
Katherine whispered,"Girls stop with the bickering,people are starting to look".
I stared at Lisa long and hard and just decided to drop it.
Lisa took my hands in hers,"I'm sorry Ness,I really was trying to test him".
"Yeah yeah",I said and continued to eat my food.We chatted as we ate and 15 minutes later we were done with our meals,I signaled to the waiter to get or cheque.Katherine insisted on paying for it as an apology for parking in a handicapped spot TWICE and we let her.
Lisa finally let Katherine drive her own car again.
"Okay that couldn't have been a coincidence!",I said as we pulled out of the parking space.
The girls sighed.
"What?you guys are acting like I'm crazy and paranoid".
"Crazy no but paranoid yes and I understand why you're like that but I promise you have nothing to worry about",Lisa said from the front seat.
I sighed and leaned back on my seat as I stared out into the beautiful night.
Katherine dropped me first.
I got out of the car,"goodnight ladies"I said before I slammed the door shut.
"Bye",they chorused.
"Oh,Kath",I leaned in on the driver's seat window."When are we going to get our dresses?".
"She said to come back in the next 3 days".
I was surprised,"It'll take her 3 days to make 4 people's dresses?".
"Hmm hmm yup".
"Woah that's fast,okay be gone".
They zoomed off my driveway,I checked my phone as I made my way to the door.It was 7pm,I unblocked the door and went straight to my couch. I kicked my shoes off and started surfing the net,I stalked people's IG account,watched tiktok videos and what not.
I tried to find Dean on Instagram but no avail.I hoped he would use a corny ass name so i kept on searching for *Dean vamp,Dean the vampire,Dean the human slayer*but I didn't find anything.Then it dawned on me,Lisa knows him which means she must surely follow him on Instagram.
I found Lisa's page and started scrolling through the people she was following,in was scrolling for about 30 minutes when I found it and it was so worth it.I saw his username and started laughing hard.
His username was Deanmon and on his bio he wrote,Dean Ollie bonefat,Vampire diaries fan.HAHA! Yeah I see that.Apparently bone fat is a french name that means *good child*.My God I can't believe I was scared of this guy,I stopped laughing when my ribs started to hurt.
I shared his page with Lisa,thank fully she was online.
"Hey lis,is this dean's page?"I was cackling,I wanted to make sure i had to right guy.
"Yes,how did you get his username?"
Oh my God,It really is him."I have my ways",I replied and sent a smirk emoji.
"You stalker,did you scroll through my following list?"
"Hmm hmm",I snickered."I needed to know what was dealing with and dayuum I now know",I burst out laughing.
Lisa sent a laughing emoji,"Ikr,whatever knock yourself out".
"Bye",but she had already gone offline.
I started stalking his page,he had a decent amount of followers and the pictures looked good.He also has some hot friends like damn and he gets ladies.
My eyes were starting to ache from all the starring i was doing and I had started to yawn so I decided to call it a night.I got up from the couch,picked up my shoes and made my way to my room.
I took a quick shower and plopped on my bed right after,the looks of someone invaded my senses and I ended up falling asleep imagining the person's face.
