"You are awake?" Dana said, beaming with a smile at the girl. Her long, black and curly hair looks dishevelled and fell over her shoulders to her waist. She looked like a doll. A beautiful doll with obsidian eyes.
Kora turned to face her and frowned, she did not know this woman so why was she smiling at her like she was her long-lost family? Her frown deepened went the woman approached her. "Where is Lazarus?" she asked and took a step back.
Dana was stunned when she heard the way the little adorable girl or so she thought sounded. She sounded not like a child at all. And did she just call Lazarus..... Lazarus?
"What's your name, sweety?" Dana asked, standing still in her position. "May I know your name?"
"Who are you and where is Lazarus?" Kora asked while staring at the woman in front of her.
"I am Dana." She said with a smile. Kora waited for her to answer her other question but this Dana woman doesn't seem to want to answer that, she didn't care much about her name. She sniffed the air and caught his scent leading upstairs and followed it. "He is in the shower," Dana said when she saw the girl heading upstairs.
Kora stopped and turned, then went to sit down wordlessly. "Won't you talk to me?" Dana asked and joined her on the couch.
"I don't know you," Kora replied.
"And you know Lazarus?" Dana asked. She was amused by the girl's behaviour she found her even more adorable when she was not acting her age.
"That is none of your business," Kora said as she studied the woman before her. She squinted her eyes and looked deeply at her. "You are a spell caster," she stated.
"I am a shifter," Dana replied.
"You are a hybrid," Kora said with certainty. "You can't deny that," Kora said and looked her straight in the eyes. "You know I'm right."
"Are you a shifter?" Dana asked. "A shifter shouldn't be able to see and say what you did." She felt naked before this little girl, no one knew about this side of her yet this girl, at first glance was able to see through her.
"My mommy and Papa were both shifters," she said, finally sounding like the child that she was. "Does he know?" She asked returning to the character that was not so childlike. "Lazarus, does he know? He is your mate, right?"
"How did you...?
"His scent is on you," Kora said with an eye roll. "I assume he doesn't know," she said with a nod.
"Who doesn't know what?" They heard a voice from the top of the stairs and turned only to see Raven descending it.
"Girl talk. None of your business." Kora said as soon as she saw Raven and then turned to Dana, "I am Kora."
Dana had her mouth agape, she could not believe that a little girl would speak like that and change personalities with such ease. Though she was relieved to know that she did blurt out what they were talking about earlier, she was still shocked. She could only nod her head when Kora introduced herself.
Raven looked at them with raised brows after a moment he realized that he won't be getting any answer from them he went to sit. Soon, Lazarus and Ezra came down and joined them.
"You are awake?" Ezra says as soon as he spotted her on the couch facing Dana. She glanced at him for a second then at Lazarus who was behind him. "No, I am still sleeping," she said humorlessly.
Dana laughed when she heard her, Ezra poured while Lazarus and Raven gave no reaction.
"I have been informed that the meal is ready," Dana announced after seemingly talking to someone through the mind link. "We should head to the dining room now, it is all set."
"This is a packed house, right?" Kora asked. This place was too huge to mainly be the alpha's mansion.
"Yes, why do you ask?" Dana answered.
"Where are the pack members? I have been here for a while now but haven't seen anyone other than you, Lazarus and these two." Korea said while pointing at the 'two' she was talking about which were none other than Raven and Ezra.
"Oh that... well the children are in school, the warriors are training and every other person is busy with one or two things in the pack," Dana explained.
"Still, it shouldn't be this empty," Kora said and looked around the huge house. "What do I know, I am new here anyway." She said and stood up. "I am hungry."
"Right this way, please," Dana said and held Kora's hand leading her towards the dining area while everyone else followed behind them.
On the dinner table were varieties of food, they smelled so good that Kora's stomach growled loudly as soon she saw the food. Dana chuckled lightly and led her to a seat and help sit on it. The table was a bit too high for her so she knelt on her seat and picked up a fork, Dana helped her cut her steak into pieces so it would be easy for her to eat.
"Why do you pamper her? If she can talk big like she does, she can also cut her steak." Raven said annoyed by what Dana was doing. He couldn't help it, he did not like the girl.
"She is a child, whether she acts like it or not doesn't stop her from being a child," Dana replied. " Besides, I like it and I am happy to do this."
Lazarus looked at her when she said that, he looked at her for a few seconds and then focused on his plate again. He understood the underlying meaning of her words but did not say anything about it.
"Raven is just jealous," Kora said and shoved a steak into her mouth. "He has no one to pamper him."
"You finally decide to talk like the pup that you are. " Ezra teased.
"Shouldn't you be training the warriors as the head warrior, gamma?" She retorted. Ezra kept quiet and ate without speaking anymore. They couldn't beat the girl with the words.
