Lazarus did not know what to say after hearing what Kora said. As annoyed as he was by Darren, Kora was different, she was his little girl. There were multiple emotions in his eyes as he looked at her and Kora did not miss them.
She turned to Darrrn, "I want to speak with Lazarus alone." Kora said, looking Darren in the eyes.
"Is that what you want?" Darren asked. He didn't want her to do something that she did not want to do.
"Yes," Kora said with a nod of the head. Darren also gave a nod to her before standing and heading for the door. Before he walked out he turned around and shot a glare at Lazarus who was unfazed by it. Kora got up from her seat and walked over to where Lazarus was. She hugged him and he stood up and hugged her back. "I know you are concerned for me," Kora said.
"I don't want what happened in the past to repeat itself, Kora, you are the only one now if anything happens to you…" he trailed off.
