David along with Jack led the army toward the Blood Moon Pack and getting close enough, he noticed that something was not right. The border that always had security guarding it now had none at their post. Though the city is always quiet, the silence this time was eerie.
He stopped walking and those with him did the same. Jack, who was the closest to him whistled, also caught on to what was going on. "They knew we were coming."
"Have them get ready," he said, moving forward alone.
"Where are you going?" Jack asked. This was not the time when the one who should be leading should walk off alone. What would happen if something happened to him?
"No matter what happens, don't come for me," He stopped and said in a low tone after Jack drew closer. "All I want to see is my daughter and her mate. Whatever happens after that, does not matter."
