After apologizing for the disruption, Serena had no choice but to face Charlton and Annalys who she was sharing the table with. When she did, she first saw Charlton who was looking at her with laughter in his eyes, while Annalys seemed conscience stricken. Embarrassed but at the same time wanting to comfort Annalys, she said, "Please, don't mind me."
Charlton's lips tilted up as his dimple deepened. Despite seemingly engrossed in his conversation with Annalys, he has always been aware of Serena and have never taken her out of his periphery. Thus, he knew exactly that though not deliberate, the cause was not a slip of the hand as Serena claimed.
